Favorite sneaker?

reclegend22Just copped the Nike Air More Uptempo Pippen's today at Finish Line. They are the 2012 Olympic Edition in obsidian blue with the white "AIR" lettering on the sides and they were hard as hell to find. Finally found them at Westfield in Toledo after everywhere online was sold out. One of my favorite sneakers ever by Nike, originally released back in 1996.
So fresh that I decided to put mulch around them and plant them in a garden.

So, what's your favorite sneaker? These are definitely up there for me, but I would have to go with 2001's The Kobe. Had a pair of these in eighth grade and scored in bunches in them.

reclegend22Fail on the pictures on my part. I will look for ones that aren't blocked.

reclegend22The Air Jordan franchise has definitely produced some classics. The only ones I ever owned, though, were the Air Jordan 14s. (I was always a big fan of Kobe's Adidas', Chris Webber's DaDa's and Iverson's Answer line. Kinda skipped over Jordan.) Definitely not the best of the series by any means, but they were a nice shoe to play in while in junior high. Had them in all black with the neon green logo (can't find pic).

reclegend22Have no idea why none of the pictures are working for me so fuck it. Just end the thread.

hoops232001 Air Jordan 1's... Exact color.

DeyDurkie5rec, those shoes are fucking awful.

Commander of AwesomeI had a pair of the Converse Larry Johnson's back in early 90s. Thoguht they were pretty boss at the time. Also had a pair of Ken Griffey Jr.'s back in the mid 90s which I thought were awesome, Green and black.

Air Jordan 12's
Probably also the last time I really wore sneakers as my every day shoe. -
Commander of AwesomeThat's a good point LJ, I haven't worn sneakers at my everyday shoe since I was about 13.
-
said_aouitaI'd count them as "every day" shoes if I ran every day.....

This. Sneakers were cool when my parents were buying them for me. I can't remember the last time I paid over $50 for a pair of shoes. Expensive shoes just seem like an unwarranted cost for me.Commander of Awesome;1231419 wrote:That's a good point LJ, I haven't worn sneakers at my everyday shoe since I was about 13. -

Wore these in junior high! Now if I buy sneakers, new balance made in America shoes for me. I only buy a pair every couple of years running shoes. -

thavoiceHad a pair of the black Larry Bird Cons back in 7th grade. Magic Johnson also had a version of it was well in a diff color.
Man..those things were HEAVY AS HELL!!!!
Was rocking the Run Avant from Nike for about 800miles, until that was discontinued. TOok awhile but found that they almost basically just changed the name from Avant to LunarFly because it used the Lunarlon.
Used some Asics...I liked them but they didnt seem to last nearly as long. I am not a slave to a certain company as I will stay in a product line until it changes too much or gets canned then go to the running store to look for new ones. -

Naw. The Kobe -- and the Pippens -- are classic basketball sneakers.DeyDurkie5;1231323 wrote:rec, those shoes are ****ing awful.
I only wore the shoes mentioned for basketball purposes on the court, which is perfectly acceptable and what they are made for. They look nice and also have a little bit of flash. I didn't walk around town in a Denver Nuggets hat wearing DADA supremes. I'm not Waca Flocca Flame.Raw Dawgin' It wrote:Neither...but i'm pretty sure if i pull up pictures of people wearing those sneakers they're going to be black or wish they were black.
I also owned a pair of these. And they were sick.

I also owned a pair of these in white with the shiny silver finish. And they were sick.

Pick6The Jordan's that CC posted were my everyday shoe for the past few years. Now I am wearing Black Nike Dual Fusions. Very comfortable and breathable.
