  [SP]I think the Nolan era of Batman is done. I really hope they don't make a Robin movie. I am not a fan of him at all, but if anyone could make that a huge box office hit, it would be Nolan. With that being said, Nolan said he was done, I believe him. He is the producer of the Superman reboot that is coming out next year. I think as far as comic movies go, his focus will be with Superman.
  
  Whenever they do a reboot of Batman (lets hope it's longer than spiderman, doubt it though), they have some tough shoes to fill. Nolan set the bar VERY high not just for Batman, but for any comic movie/series/trilogy.

  To be fair, Nolan's Batman reboot came 8 years after the last Burton Batman movie... Spiderman was 5... Not really that big of a deal, IMO.

  Agree with most of the others. TDKR is very good but not as good as TDK.
  
  That airplane scene was fucking incredible...especially after I learned that there was very limited CGI in that scene.

  It was the best scene of the film. Overall, I'd give it a solid 3 out of 4 stars. Fans of the first two Nolan films will enjoy the references and continuity. The action scenes were ambitious and definitely the biggest (and loudest) of the trilogy, if not taking away from the plot at times. Problems were the absolute non-shocking "plot twists" given how everything was signaled often, and lazy and cliched dialogue. We went with a couple (one German, one Brazilian), who made the comment that it seemed every aspect of the film (aside from the first scene) was borrowed from other movies, like Fight Club, 007 movies, etc. Theater was 90% packed, I think most people enjoyed it but there was never any cheering, clapping and barely any laughter. It was a satisfying, but not overwhelming success to a great trilogy. IMO it was the least successful of the 3 films.

  Because they aren't American and aren't familiar with the Batman legacy and don't really care about some of the social commentary references because it doesn't apply to them.
  
  They didn't grow up with Batman, it didn't really convert them to loving the trilogy. I do think they enjoyed the technical aspects. But it was a clunky film plot wise. I can see how some people would rate it higher if they really loved Hathaway's character (I didn't, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment), I can also see how some critics would give it a negative rating even if I wouldn't. The plot was nonsensical at times.

  Also, I probably should have mentioned this earlier but they agreed that the entire film was predictable without even possibly knowing about spoilers. All of the plot twists weren't just alluded to, they were beaten over our heads. At the 1.5 hour mark I whispered to my wife that I knew exactly what the last scene would be - everyone should have. It was obvious.
  
  Technically beautiful, good acting, just a bit too ambitious.

  one wouldn't think someone would take the time to set up an elaborate demolition and civil engineering symbolic maneuver that served no purpose other than making a cool visual that the audience is supposed to react to - our audience didn't.

  I'd say TDKR was my 2nd favorite of the series. TDK is far and away the best... Batman Begin was good, but didn't interest me as the other two.
  
  I'll say, IMO, I enjoyed the Amazing Spider-Man more so than TDKR. Again though, I'm a much bigger Spider-Man fan than Batman.
  
  With that said, I'll rank my top comic book movies as such:
  
  1) TDK
  2) The Avengers
  3) The Amazing Spider-Man
  4) The Watchmen
  5) Spider-Man 2
  
  That's off the top of my head, so I may be forgetting one.

  Yeah, you're right. I couldn't quite make out what he was saying a lot of the time. Otherwise, I agree with Manhattan_Buckeye's analysis. Of the trilogy, this was my least favorite.

  I loved it entirely. I thought the story was great and I really enjoyed the acting. I thought it was Christian Bale's best performance of the three and I also really loved JGL and Anne Hathaway's performances. And I swear Michael Caine made me tear up every time he was on screen. I loved Bane and I actually didn't have much trouble understanding him. I know someone who has seen it twice and he said it's much easier the second time.
  
  I won't say it was better than TDK but for me it's really, really close. I think all three movies together are pretty much perfection.
