Cooperstown

Heading up to Cooperstown tomorrow morning for the weekend to see Barry Larkin inducted in to the Hall of Fame. Who has been before? Any places I should check out (other than the actual Hall) while I am there?

    Ommegang Brewery is pretty cool.

Just looked it up and the brewery is between our lodging and downtown Cooperstown.

Looks like you might play America's Favorite Game. Hope you don't win the grand prize.

Couple of years go we did a Guys Trip to Cooperstown and also played golf at Buttermilk Valley Golf Club a little outside of town. Awesome course and really great mountain scenery.

America's favorite game is drunk driving. Grandprize is killing someone and ending up in Jail.

Don't know if it still exists, but a block or so from the actual HOF, Pete Rose had his own mini museum (a floor above Mickey Mantles museum). It's less than spectacular but did have alot of stuff designed to chap Bud Seligs ass.....autographed copy of the Dowd report, personalized casino robe, players club cards, etc.

Fuck that. If I'm hugging Larkin, it'd be full on gay.

Doubleday Field. If they arent playing a game, you can get out onto the field and play catch, batting practice, etc. I was there with my dad as a 10 year old and they had a game, but they were just warming up. They let me hit a ball and then run the bases. It was an awesome experience.

Yeah. There's a reason Harang fled to the west coast.

Makes sense that 1) Justin no longer has a Harang avatar, and 2) why justin just returned from the west coast.

Went twice when I was younger and played in the Cooperstown Dreams Park. It might be cool to check out, whether you're a big baseball fan or like 11/12 year old boys.

Check out the batting cages next to Doubleday field.......walk the streets......check out the shops.......Been there twice but I can't recommend a place to eat......wasn't impressed with the places we ate at. You could also check out the ball fields at the south edge of town....Games going on there with kid's teams.
