Kissing your parents

  I have three daughters we are not an affection type family with a lot of hug and kisses.
  
  We save our emotional hugs and kisses for more serious times and needed support.
  However I have noticed that my daughters seem to be giving my wife and I more cheek kisses and hugs…. wonder if it has anything to do with our age now?
  
  Do you kiss your parents?
  Is your family hugger and kissers?

  When I was growing up, we were never huggers or anything. But ever since my grandpa (Dad's dad) died, we've been huggers. Sometimes things just give you a deeper sense of appreciation and love for family.
  
  Only family members I ever kiss are grandmas.

  I've hugged my dad like twice and it was awkward. Not our way.
  I hug and kiss my mom.
  I hug one of my sisters. The other is more like my dad and I.
  I hug and kiss on the cheek most of my Aunts.
  
  I'd prefer not to hug and shit, but whatever.

  Yes and both. Also tell my parents/close family members I love them. I have a very close family and I see no reason not too. Do the same to my daughters when they are going somewhere. Unless there is someone in your family you didn't like, I don't know why you wouldn't.

  Hug my mom, grandma and a 2 aunts. That's it. No to kissing.

  We aren't a very "affectionate" family either, which is cool with me. Hugs for my mom, grandma, and aunt. My grandma and aunt will sometimes kiss me on the cheek. I tell them all I love them every time I get off the phone or leave from a visit with them.
  
  My wife's family are huggers and kissers. Weirdos.

  Not huggers but do say I love you to each of my sisters, mom, dad, aunts, and uncles.

  A friend of mine's in laws are touchy ppl. First time I met them they're hugging me, including the father. He even kissed my buddy (his son in law) when we walked in. Completely different from my family.

  I would not be okay with some guy kissing me. Hell, I wouldn't be okay with my dad kissing me. Just weird.

  Yeah, agreed. I'll hug a guy, that's not a problem, but kissing is a little weird for me.

  I hug my son all time, you gotta show kids how to be affectionate in my opinion, if not they grow up to be arseholes and treat others like crap. I kiss my son on the forehead when he goes to bed. wouldnt kiss him on the lips thats just a little too wierd I think.

  I hug my family, including my dad. We have a pretty good relationship. Almost like best friends I would say. No kissing. I only tell my parents or grandparents I love them.

  My mother is Turkish and there is a lot of hugging and kissing in that culture. So, hugs and kisses for my mom and everyone on her side of the family. My dad gets a hug, as well with his side of the family.

  I don't like hugging (or touching in general) but I still hug my parents, siblings and any other family member who wants one. I don't kiss any of them, but I let my parents kiss me on the cheek if they want to.
  
  I tell all of them I love them when we talk on the phone or when I see them.

  I hug everyone in my family. Brother is the bro-hug, sister too. No kissing, except for tonguing my grandma!

  Our family will hug each other when we see each other. The kissing is on the cheek, unless it is my sister in law, then it is all tongue.

  I give my grandma and mom a kiss on the cheek when I say goodbye to them, but that's it.

  My parents are big on hugs, but not kisses. My dad would always hug me, which I found weird as I got older. He kind of looked at me weird when I reached out for a handshake one time. He gave me that look like "I'm your father, there's only one of me, I'll hug you if I want to." So that was the last of that.

  I can't remember the last time I gave someone a legitimate hug, they're just awkward to me. I usually go with the one armed half hug for my mom and grandma with a kiss on the cheek. I go with the bro shake with my dad and brother, and the half hug/no kiss for my sister.
  
  Also, isn't a funeral viewing the most awkward situation for these types of things? I absolutely hate it!!

  They are starting to realize you are old and will most likely be dying soon. So they are showing some respect before you go.

  So what you're saying is this is all about the "Will" I think it all about understanding that I was a good parent and they have learned alot from their mom and dad .... and if I die tomorrow I will be happen with that
