JTizzleDo you Like or even watch?
I am boycotting most of it for obvious reasons starting to believe it is all fake.
I really think some of these shows are down right rude and exploit the people in them, Whats your opinion? -
Commander of AwesomeRude was my first thought too.
-
gerb131People will act a foo if the camera around.

gutThe biggest fake, which is saying something, IMO has to be that swappers show. It's the one where a guy starts out with a couple of framed Elvis Presley gold records worth about $250, and then trades people all the way up to getting a boat worth $8k.
People getting taken again and again for hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars. On the other hand, it's not hard to believe people are actually that stupid. I guess the surprising thing to me is that people even trade with EBAY so ubiquitous. What are they saving otherwise - 10%, maybe some convenience? -
JTizzleand my bad if the seruis business title issue was my fualt, didnt know what was really going on at that point. So don't be afraid to voice your true feelings. If what I think is going on you guys can have that name back if you still want it!

I think most of them are fake or scripted, one show on Discovery the guy slipped up and forgot to use his accent actor voice and i was surprised an editor didnt catch it.gut;1209731 wrote:The biggest fake, which is saying something, IMO has to be that swappers show. I'd agree, but some are definitely more fake/rigged than others. A better question might be at what point does it fail to even resemble reality tv?JTizzle;1209734 wrote:I think most of them are fake or scripted, one show on Discovery the guy slipped up and forgot to use his accent actor voice and i was surprised an editor didnt catch it. -
SonofanumpHate it. The only "reality" show I'll watch is Deadliest Catch, which is fucking 100% real and fucking 100% insane.
Take that back, I like watching the train wrecks on Dr. Drew Celebrity Rehab also. -
JTizzle^ will agree on you with that it would be pretty hard to stage alot of that. Them dudes have some massive marbles lol
-
THE4RINGZI like Axe Men.
I watch The Bachelor/ette with my wife, paying forward my television time for when football season rolls around. -
RotinajReality TV blows.
-
OSHI have never watched reality tv shows from the get-go. I tried them out, took them for a test drive...but hated them always.
I never watch any or will I ever. -
gutHow many "Antiques Road Show" rip-offs has Discovery puked out? Pawn Stars is basically the same thing (and actually a good show), and then there are at least 2-3 variants of that. Storage wars is the poor man's rip-off. In total, there has to be at least 8 ARS reality tv rip-offs.
-
JTizzleThe storage shows crap me, funny how there is a shed full of junk then magically there's one valuable item hiding in the back corner lol and who the Fudge leaves 5 grand or more in a safe in a storage rental?
-
WebFireI like the new show Fast n Loud, because it focuses on the cars (bad ass cars) and not the people/drama, at least for now. But even that show is scripted pretty heavily.
Deadliest Catch is probably the best at seeming authentic, and Ice Road Truckers doesn't do too bad, compared to the newer ones.
Storage Wars, Sons of Guns and American Guns are just awful. But I still watch them because the subject matter is interesting. -
WebFire
All the lockers are staged. It's so obvious.JTizzle;1209843 wrote:The storage shows crap me, funny how there is a shed full of junk then magically there's one valuable item hiding in the back corner lol and who the Fudge leaves 5 grand or more in a safe in a storage rental? -

I think stuff is definitely planted. But the most glaring is the grossly inflated values. "Hey here's an old tire iron...that's probably $75"WebFire;1209848 wrote:All the lockers are staged. It's so obvious. -
Ironman92I watch the music ones but they are mainly performing.....not much on the surrounding stuff.
The best reality TV is sports. Baseball, basketball, football and golf for me. -

Stupid shows for Stupid people. -

Many are entertaining and, ultimately, no less "stupid" than a lot of mindless drivel on tv.dontcare;1209885 wrote:Reality TV

I really like Pawn Stars because of all the different unique stuff that comes in there. I don't care if it is staged, IMO the star of the show is the items and they do a good job with the background and history stuff. -

That is about the only thing I like is how they describe the history behind an itemgut;1209888 wrote:Many are entertaining and, ultimately, no less "stupid" than a lot of mindless drivel on tv.
