What's your favorite burger?

Stuffed bleu cheese burger that I make on the grill, and topped with more bleu cheese.

Just make some the other day.

I like 5 Guys, but I don't think it's THAT great. It's even more expensive here.

I've been hearing about a place called '5 Napkins' that I want to check out. From what I've heard it's like 5 Guys but a little nicer and a sit and get waited on place.

I gotta try Thurman's asap. I'm making it my goal to go there the Sunday of the Michigan game after we beat that ass.

This topic comes up every other month...and gets me starving!

Mentioned before: Thurman Cafe (Columbus) and Matt's Bar (Minneapolis).

Not mentioned yet: Terry's Turf Club (Cincinnati).

    Overrated: 5 Guys (all locations).

Enjoyable: Steak n' Shake and Red Robin.

Chefs in Portland have recently been on a burger kick, and nearly every restaurant in town has their own burger now. Most of these blow away Fast food and bar burgers, they are pricier though, usually $10-15.
My favorite is at a tiny French place called Little Bird- It's a big and pretty simple cheeseburger, with just grilled red onions, spicy mustard, house-made ketchup & iceberg lettuce slaw, but the beef is very high quality and is cooked perfectly (somewhere between rare and medium rare).

For fast food burgers Five Guys and In and Out are clearly the best two, though I think both are somewhat overrated by their fans (similar to Chipotle- they're alright, but not the best food ever as some like to claim)

As for Thurmans, it used to be my favorite burger, and I still really like it, but most of their appeal is size and variety of toppings, the burger itself seems kind of dry to me....

I thought Ohio had some pretty good burger places, then I moved to DC....
My new favorite is near my house in Silver Spring, MD, just outside DC. It is called Quarry House.
It is a little hole in the bar bar, down a flight of steps on the corner near downtown Silver Spring.
It has some awesome 1/3rd, 1/2 and 1 pound burgers, with some great toppings. My favorite is the black and bleu 1/2 pound with tater tots.

They also have some awesome beers.
