Drums of WarI know many of us on here are professionals in some ways or others as I have read people giving advice on legal, business, or even maintenance or mechanical issues. I thought I might start a place for folks to get the advice they need. I myself am a licensed Property, Casualty, Life and Health Insurance Agent, and I specialize in Risk management for commercial insurance. I would be more than happy to offer free advice, or just point someone in the right direction hoping they would do the same for me in their field.

Do you do a lot in terms of macros/VBA? I use basically all other features in Excel but haven't brought myself to learn VBA yet. If you have any suggestions on where to start learning, I'll take them.sleeper;1204978 wrote:I can do pretty much anything in Excel besides bang your wife. I work in the Financial field. -

I'm not very good with VBA but I have built a few things that make my life easier and I use a few macros people at work have built for me. The best way to learn is to use the "record macro" button and play around with different functions of excel. Then go look at the code that was popped out. You'll start picking up little things here and there; and eventually you'll be able to just build it in Excel.gorocks99;1204985 wrote:Do you do a lot in terms of macros/VBA? Yeah, it's not a bank or a loan. It's risk management to stay in business to pay for larger claims.ernest_t_bass;1204964 wrote:This is the major thing I LOATHE about insurance companies. "Don't use us, or we'll charge you more! Just give us yoar money!" -

I am pretty sure it is not the adjuster who makes that decision, rather an underwriter with charts.THE4RINGZ;1204970 wrote:Depends on the adjuster, some of them are real bags of douche. -

ZWICK 4 PREZI can automate a process so well that all of you shop class flunkies will lose your jobs. Ask GoChiefs... I'd imagine he's pretty lonely down there in the plant.
Jk. I hate what my job means for laborers and their necessity, but it keeps me employed. -

I though you were a EE.
Efficiency experts will always be needed and have value. A lot of times it's just a part of their job function. -
