Honeymoon Ideas (especially all-inclusive resorts and/or stateside locations)
-
thePITmanMy fiance and I are looking into honeymoon options. What would you recommend?
We're interested in considering all-inclusive beach-side resorts (a tiki hut is my dream honeymoon). Here is one recommended by a friend, and I LOVE it! http://www.sandals.com/main/ochorios/or-home.cfm It's kind of expensive, but if we stretched, we might be able to do it. No tiki huts, though. Anything similar in the United States, or cheaper somewhere else? (less than $2k for sure)
We're also interested in other locations within the US - places like Disney World and Grand Teton National Park, etc (although I don't see the hype about Disney World). We do not want to go to Niagara Falls or Las Vegas. We're looking for beautiful, adventurous places with fun things to do. We're not wine drinkers or partiers... just want maybe a more secluded place with good scenery in warm weather, yet still fun things to do and to have fun.
Serious responses only, please. Thank you! -
sleeperThe Maldives are pretty nice.

justincredibleMy wife's parents gave us a week at their Orlando time share to trade in. We traded it for a week in Aruba. Aruba was awesome. I don't think you could do it for less than $2k, though. We did a trip to Cancun in December of 2010 for right around $2k, though. It was all-inclusive. Pretty awesome.

I believe we walked by this resort (in Aruba) and possibly stopped at the bar for a drink. It was really nice.ernest_t_bass;1196770 wrote:Riu has some pretty good options, all around the globe... wall, most of the globe:

chicago510I've never been to Europe so that would be at the top of my list.
Also, one of those Caribbean islands with no phones, tv, internet etc where you could spend a week for pretty cheap and just enjoy the island and food and scenery would be cool. -

We stayed at Riu Palace Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for our honeymoon. Very nice, all inclusive. TAKE LONG PANTS. Shorts are not allowed at evening dinners.justincredible;1196782 wrote:I believe we walked by this resort (in Aruba) and possibly stopped at the bar for a drink. It was really nice.
