Actually wasn't a founding member, but agree on the RIP. Excellent musician.

    Oakland A's?

Come to think of it, Chris Berman (when he was relavant) nicknamed him French Kiss or Ebony Eyes.

    Hypnotized.

Sentimental Lady was his most famous composition.

Welch, to me, was one of the musicians of the 70's that marked the years in my childhood and is also one of the most unknown and underrated voices in rock.

Most people don't know Welch was one of the most important members of Fleetwood Mac. Without Welch, Fleetwood Mac may have never existed as we know it. Welch ran the band with John McVie during his tenure and without Welch there likely would never have been a Fleetwod Mac with Buckingham and Nicks. His snubbing from the Rock and Roll HOF as part of that band was a travesty and quite possibly part of the reason he ended his time here on earth, though that is purely speculation on my part. RIP Bob Welch.

Another sad chapter in the tale of Fleetwood Mac guitarists. Lindsey Buckingham must be shaking in his shoes by now.

If you get the chance, listen to the Fleetwood Mac version of "Sentimental Lady" off the "Bare Trees". Denny Kirwin's guitar fills (which Welch wrote) are sublimely brilliant.

Me three and I like Fleetwood Mac. Just didn't know this guy was with them.

I don't know much about early Fleetwood so I had no idea who this guy is but RIP anyway. Anyone that was ever involved with the band that put out Tusk is okay in my book.

Didn't he also perform on the Meatloaf album, Bat out of Hell?

The lyrics are different with those two versions, as well. The first verse is omitted on his solo version.

Not that I know of. Are you thinking if Todd Rundgren?
