Birthdays

Mine is tomorrow...going to a nice steak dinner then hopefully a BJ or 3.

Her's is the 15th, in lieu of gifts we are going on a long weekend away at the end of the month.

Men (and woman) of the Chatter...what do you do/spend for your wife/kids' birthday and do you ever get that back in return?

    Also Vote. Unrelated poll.

    Can't say I've had a bad birthday.

I spend plenty on my wife, and ask that she doesn't spend a dime on me.

    - insert predictable iPhone 3GS comment.

I always go out for a nice dinner for my/wife's b-day. Never had a bad birthday but I think they are less fun after you turn 21. Looking forward to turning 16/18/21 was fun, now each year I just feel like I'm getting older.

lol A lot of places will rent to someone under 25...

I really have never done anything memorable for my bdays. I've always been the "it's just another day" type of guy. My friends did throw my a party for my 23rd, it was a good time. Other than that, I can't think of any other bday that was better than another.

Last year's bday was pretty good. Spent it in upper state NY at a friend's Lake House like a boss.

I have spent anywhere from $50ish to $200 or so on birthdays for significant others. I've also gotten some semi-expensive gifts and some that were less but that were also thoughtful. Just depends on the person, time of year and/or what's going on near the time of said birthday. Concerts and sporting events are usually in the mix.

Always celebrate my wife's birthday with a nice dinner. My birthday usually falls on a holiday so we incorporate the celebrations.

Meh. I am 45 years old birthdays mean little to me. More about making other people feel important.

Turned 25 earlier this year. It was a good birthday. Awesome bday sex from a hot girl (although she's kind of crazy) In Gatlinburg.

I'd say any bday you spend with friends drinking is a fun birthday.

Any birthday sucks after age 20 when 2 numbers change.

    No way.

    Birthday...got nothing.
Christmas....got a massaging thing for the chair that I never asked for, nor do I need, and she uses it for her back issues. I felt like the episode of The Simpsons when Homer got Marge a bowling ball as a gift with the name HOmer on it...

    Sounds like a nice present.

I've only had two since 21, but they weren't quite as awesome as the first (legal) drinking binge.

For my 29th birthday we spent a week in Arizona for spring training. For my wife's 30th (end of July) we are having a party at the house. I win.

But seriously, we are going to SF the end of June for our anniversary so we can't swing two trips that close together.
