Reality check

I have been at Children Hospital for the past three days.
My grandson age 4 ½ started the 10-12 operation process of correcting a birth defect Bilateral Microlia (no ears or canals). The enter ear is all perfect but the development of the canals and out ears did not form.
The operation when great (removal of some rib cartridge and the forming of the ear from the cartridge and the placing of the cartridge to the skull, under the skin) 5 hour operation. The little guy will have 11 more about every 3 months. This is the first of many.

Here the reality check ….. when you think you have it bad ….you don’t. Not even close so take yourself serving pitty party some place else.

Walking around the Burn unit, Children floor and the new born (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a heartbreaker. I have been to those units before an forgot what a emotional drain they are. We all should be so thankful.
What those kids and parents have to endure is unreal.

Talk about bravery and determination WOW….

Good luck to your grandson. I hope the surgeries all go smooth and everything turns out great.

I agree. I may have a bad day every now and then, but it's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things and is mostly just an inconvenience.

There are many people who have it much worse.
