They forgot the cream cheese...

  • justincredible
Co-worker picked up bagels this morning for the boss's birthday and they forgot to give us the cream cheese. Dry bagels suck.

Anyway, what do you in situations like this when you get takeout and you realize after you get home that they forgot part of it? The effort to go back usually isn't worth it. Do you call and complain or just forget about it and double check the next time you go to the same place?

I used to just say fuck it and double check next time but lately with all the shitty service I've been getting from all types of restaurants I now call and complain. Did this the other day with Bob Evans... and they send me $10 off coupon.

As for your bagels does anyone in your office have any peanut butter its a good subsitute for cream cheese.

I call and complain. I normally get something free out of it.

PB is the GOAT on bagels IMO.

As for the question, I only call and complain if its really worth it. Most of the time its not the end of the world.

I found some butter. I like PB but not on everything bagels.

We got Pei Wei to go for dinner the other day, entrees and lettuce wraps. Well we get home and everything is there but the lettuce.

We don't have any lettuce either, and aren't about to eat it with a spoon, so we call and bitch and they had some chick deliver us lettuce and a coupon for a free appetizer.

I was pissed, but I lol'd at the lettuce delivery lady.

Also, I would complain in that situation b/c cream cheese tubs are expensive at bagel shops.

Bitch and moan at home then check next time.
  • dlazz
The energy put forth bitching about a mistake on my order does not outweigh the energy I'd spend fixing the food myself, so I normally just STFU and eat it anyway.

This is generally what I do.

I'm pretty good at checking my shit before I leave, but I rarely complain. Shit happens.

I have a guy I went to school with who literally complained every single time he went anywhere. He always had credits at all these places. It was bullshit. He looked for shit to complain about. He would always say "I'm paying for it, I want it perfect." I hate people like that.

Yeah, that is annoying. I'm usually too laid back to care unless it is something ridiculous. Like a foreign object in my food or undercooked chicken or something.

Shouldn't this be in the loud eater's mini-fridge anyway?

    You'd think, but no. Unfortunately.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease...call and complain (you'll get something free out of it), and check the next time.

    Call every time.

...Co-worker should be fired for not checking...especially for the Boss's Birthday~!

...I'd call & let them know what happened, most companies WANT to know where they have service issues so they can help avoid making similar mistakes.

You've done enough = get on the Chatter and talk about it!

Similarly (but not really): I did a 5K this weekend. I was asked late in the game to join in so my registration would have to be walk up. That's cool. No biggie. When registering, I noticed $10 or $20. The difference was a t-shirt. Well heck yeah! Get me a t-shirt!!! So I throw down $20, she gives me my number and points me to the giant stack of t-shirts.

As I approach, I notice the sign: Pre-Reg Shirts and W-U Reg Shirts. So, I go to the walk-up side. Two sizes... XS and 2XL... that's it. So I get no shirt. So do I go back and complain or do I feel good about donating an extra $10 to administrative costs. Neither. I get on the Chatter and talk about it! #BeastMode

You should have just went to the "Pre-Reg Shirts" area and picked up your size.

If questioned, you can politely explain that you clearly registered before the start of the race.

Mistakes happen. I am sure a phone call to the manager would assure your next order will be just the way you like it. And perhaps gain you a discount.

Red "x" on hand = Walk up registration... Green "x" = pre-reg. Now, if they can think that far ahead, why can't they think of getting more "normal sized" shirts. While I was not investigating, my memory recalls not seeing one 2X-er there. And I highly doubt they'd be involved in walking/running 5K. I'm just sayin'.

But this is more about cream cheese. Which I like, so this is a bit of a dilemma.

Would you answer that cream cheese is or is not a top 10 selling cheese in the US?
  • cruiser_96
Is, if counted in the "cheese" category. Being creamed could change its classification. Or not.

EDIT: ANd if it is indeed a cheese, I'd still like to keep my pepper jack choice for favorite cheese, but this would be my second.
