    Again. It is 2 separate issues.

    If the tab was such a big problem they would have made him pay it long ago or they wouldn't have let him have one to begin with. It is only an issue now because the restaurant is trying to save face after wrongfully denying him his food.

    Not when that is not the reason given for cutting him off. What sort of passive aggressive bullshit is this restaurant operating under if they're implying to a customer that he needs to pay his bill by......telling him they're running out of fish? Makes no sense. Come right out and say "We won't serve you until you pay your tab" if that's what you want him to do. Don't tell him you're running out of fish at a freaking all you can eat dinner. I mean we're dealing with a bunch of grown children here. Come on restaurant owner.....use your words.

    No doubt. And this isn't really a "one person is right, the other is wrong" type of thing. It's just everyone's nature to pick a side and defend it. But clearly there are 2 issues going on here. The restaurant is dumb because at worst you shouldn't run out of fish at an all you can eat dinner, and at best they're passive aggressively lying to a customer in a futile attempt to get him to pay his bill. The guy is dumb because not only is he not paying for something he is consuming, his fat ass is basically gorging himself on all-you-can-eat fried foods and (presumably) deep dish pizza on credit. On top of that, he is bringing bad publicity to a restaurant that was kind enough to not only let him have a tab that they haven't yet asked him to pay, but also cutting his fat ass off before he develops some new all new extra-fat Type-3 diabetes.
