    Pack lunch, school lunch favorite

    Best pack lunch ever?

Sometime my mom would pack me my lunch for school.
My favorite was a Hard Salami with Swiss Cheese, Banana Pepper and Mayo, loved the Hostess Snoball CupCakes and bag of Synder BBQ Chip and a little cup of blue cheese dip. Had to buy the milk for .05 a carton

    Best High School Lunch:

Because I was a varsity athlete our lunch where free and we could eat any of three lunch period.
My favorite high school lunch was :
Swiss Steak and gravy with real mash potatoes with the skin still on, salad thousand island dressing and cherry pie and 4 pint cartons of chocolate milk. I don’t know what they did to the Swiss (hamburger patty) steak but it was so good and the gravy was thick and greasy. I do know that the thousand island dress was made by Miss Fowler one of the moms work at the school at lunch time. So good and bring back great memories.

I generally packed my lunch because I always thought the school lunch looked nasty. I would generally take a turkey sandwich with mustard and pepper jack chesse, a banana, and some Doritos. Once I hit high school we were able to buy a la carte items like pizza, french fries, salad, pretzels, bread sticks etc.

    I rarely/never packed my lunch because I wasn't poor.

I would have never equated packed lunches with poor people. I take it you went to a big school dlazz? The poor kids received free tray lunches at my school.
  • dlazz
Nope. I graduated with approx 150. We had solid alternate choices, though.

So if the main course sucked we could swap for something else.

Bologna sandwich with cheese and Dorito's or salt & vinegar chips smashed on it = GOAT.

Pizza, taco salads in edible bowl, large water.

Where I grew up the poor people ate bologna sandwiches.
  • Commander of Awesome
Whole Wheat Bread toasted, high quality turkey, pesto, muenster or pepper jack cheese (sometimes no cheese) apple, banana, carrots.

What I bring to work every day. Eat through out the day.

Look at the end of the day, I'm much rather pack my lunch. But where I work now, I can eat 5 guys all day every day if necessary; and I almost do.

Where I grew up everyone was poor.

Who said I was offended? You said bologna was for poor people, I was just pointing out that I was, indeed, poor.
