Bat or Bird in Chimney

  • ernest_t_bass
    Fuck you, ETB.

Ok, now that we got that out of the way... Anyone have experience with birds/bats in their chimney? First time for me. I'm a virgin.

Is there a particular sound, flutter, chirp/squeal that can help one distinguish between a bat or chimney swift (bird)?

Yes, I've checked Google. Now I'm asking the experts.

    LJ?

We had a dead bird in our furnace vent. Plugged shit up and made house smell like gas. Thats the limit of my expertise.

I've only had racoons in the chimney, for that I called a guy. He basically put on a glove, reached in and grabbed the baby. Then got on the roof and held the thing for the mom to hear to make her get out of the chimney.

Throw a cover over the chimney....either will eventually die....both will stink a bit.

    Probably not bats.

My dad and grandfather owned a chimney building company that raised baby bats and birds on the side so they could shove them up chimneys and learn to differentiate the sounds each made when stuck.
