I'm not sure when the no-texting-while-driving law went into effect, but the iPhone sealed the deal for me.
I have dragon dictation, but put it into a folder. Takes just as much work to get it up and running than to send my five letter texts!

2) five-letter texts are for kindergardeners -

I use the default for Droid typing with my 2 thumbs...poorly I might add.
