Ohio Urban Exploration

I used to frequent sites like this 7-8 years ago and always found them fascinating. Basically these groups explore and document abandoned buildings in Ohio. Also, old amusement parks, drive-ins, cemeteries, military camps, etc. The one on Cincy's half-built subway is very cool.

(click Ohio Exploration, best section IMO.)

^ This page has links to other similar sites. There are hundreds if not thousands of pictures in these so most of you will be able find stuff near you. Post pictures or links of cool old stuff if you want as there's so much info. The Columbus ones are cool to me cuz I've lived here for a while. I remember seeing the OSU tunnels and the Olentangy River tunnels last time I was surfing these.

Here's another similar site. There's an entry called Champion Electric, which was just on American Pickers last week; Mike picked an old sign. I have no idea where it's at though.

Imagine that... LJ's an expert in THIS field too!

SVF, I think there was a thread a few months ago. I remember seeing this somewhere, so if you dig that up, there may be some info there too.

Good stuff. I forgot about the Heath drive in. It was abandoned long before my memory goes back. Hell, I can't even remember where it was at this point. Heath has developed a ton in the past 12 years.

You sure? I hope not. I never saw it. In fact, I've been thinking of posting this for about 3-4 months but never got around to it.

Champion Electric was in Brandywine, southeast of Cleveland.

Do a search on the Armour Meat Packing plant in East St. Louis, or the Michigan Central railroad station in Detroit. They're the Holy Grails of UE.

The Packard plant in Detroit is cool too. That whole car area also. I just know of Packards cause they're from Warren where I'm from. A lot of you guys have maybe seen the building, but never knew what it was.

Saw this a while back. Talk about abandoned. That or no one around there gives a fuck. Only action is at the end but they talk about how they took several attempts to get this truck IIRC to the edge.

Video pushing a truck off the third floor of the Packard bld.

they want a challenge, they should try east cleveland. probably atleast half the city is abandoned and it will be a big surprise waiting to see whether or not there is a crack head in each building.
