And today I found the Grave of my Great Great Great Grandpa Benjamin. It's just a few miles from where his son is buried.

For srs though. One of my distant grandfathers came over on the Mayflower. Somewhere in New Englamd there's supposed to be a place named after him.

Traced ours all the way back to some guy named God, never met him but it seems like he was very well liked by many people.

Well I found my Dad's paperwork. It's like this.

    Edward (from Ireland)
    John
    Benjamin
    John
    Benjamin
    Marvel
    Ransom
    Marion
    Clarence
Me...that line stops with me since I have a daughter and The Wife is fixed.

    Me
    Henry II
    Eldo
    Henry I
    Forget I
    Forget II
    Forget III
    Forget IV
    .....all we know

I don't think we've done a whole lot of research. We know that Henry I changed his name from Bergmann to Bergman in 1917, World War I. Obviously a lot of German hatred going on then.

They did a lot of moving between New York and the Toledo area. Three of my four grandparents were bigshots in NYC but married/moved for a job. I think one guy moved from Ohio to Arkansas and back to Ohio. Fuck Arkansas.

    Honestly that would blow.

Yep it kinda does, but my daughter is into the whole genealogy thing and will make sure her kids know about my family. She just got divorced and took back her maiden name.

The weird thing was my Grandparents had 10 kids. Six girls and four boys. They had lots of grandchildren, but the guys had a total of three or four male offspring while the ladies were 'breeding' many kids. I know of three, including me, that can currently carry on that linage. So I guess we are down to my cousins two sons...oh well I'll be dead like my forefathers and won't even know. I'm just hoping they can remember the names of their unknown Grandfathers and respect them like I do...and the life they lived.

Can you imagine how they would freak out at the technology now. Imagine two to three generations from now how'd we'd be freaked out.

But back to your post, yea that does kinda blow.
