Gas Prices

That only shows non adjusted historic prices. Link to your claim that it hasn't caught up with inflation yet?
  • Fab1b
Personally I don't care what any expert says or anything, I think the price of oil is a straight sham to keep the people poor, and class lines where they want them, etc......its not the whole piece but a piece of that!

Either that, or gold is overvalued right now. I know a gold bug would never go along with that logic, though.

So what does that have to do with the fact that gas is right where it should be today, April 4th 2012?

You're under the assumption that the government is accurately reporting inflation. Hint: It's not.

Because for many years, the prices of food and gas would drag down inflation. So yeah, you're right, they don't accurately report it. For many years it was much lower than what was reported. It all evens out.

It all evens out? You're such a fraud. How your employed with a salary is beyond me.

    :laugh::laugh::laugh:

You're right, gas prices are probably higher than they should be. Gas and food were so anti-inflationary that inflation was actually much lower than what was reported for about 20 years. So yes, it does about "even out".

    I don't get a salary BTW. I don't make the right decisions, I don't make money, I don't eat.

The only fraud here is you. Not only do you lie about owning a McDonalds, but there is no way in hell you are a financial analyst.

    Kills me

In Temperance, MI where I live 3.99 at the 2 gas stations here in town

5 mins down the road in Toledo, it's 3.57

15-20mins up the road in Monroe, MI it's 3.85

Thankfully for reality purposes, inflation evening out doesn't mean JACK SHIT for the people most affected by inflation, the poor. What is LJ going to tell people when gas is $10 a gallon and wages are stagnant? "Hey guys don't worry it'll all even out 40 years from now". Such a fraud.
  • sleeper
    And LJ votes too. Fuck.

Stagnant wages ARE a huge issue. Anyone with a brain knows that wages have not kept up, therefore while prices may be keeping up with inflation, wages are not. Another reason that your statement about gas being "cheap" right now is false.

Stagnant wages aren't a problem if inflation is low. Don't worry LJ it all evens out. Are you serious? It all "evens out". LOL

What is the average if you have a set of numbers that are 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3?

How about if they are 1,4,6,6,2,1,1,3?

4.13 in my little town. 3.77 where I work 22 miles away.

Evening out only matters in the Ivory towers of economic historians. Reality is what actually matters and inflation is so skewed right now its ridiculous. Once the Fed raises their rates, watch out, $10 gas here we come. Just be sure to tell your friends that it will even out soon enough

Yeah $10/gallon gas. That will happen.

Why do people continue to take this guy seriously?
