Best game of the past decade

  • gorocks99
ESPN has a poll going, I forgot how good some of these were. The choices above are the top 9 in current voting, plus an "other".
  • gorocks99
My vote goes to Boise St-Oklahoma. The end to that game, with the hook-and-lateral, and statue of liberty, and proposal, was just so over the top. I don't think I'll EVER see a game like that again.

Here are the other choices they provide:

    10 2009 Big East QFinals
    11 2008 Wimbledon Final
    12 2001 World Series G7
    13 2006 NCAA Reg. Final
    14 2008 NCAA Championship
    15 2004 ALCS Game 4
    16 2008 U.S. Open
    17 2003 Tour de France
    18 2003 ALCS Game 7
    19 2000 PGA Championship
    20 2005 NBA Finals G5
    21 2002 W. Conf. Finals G7
    22 2008 NBA Finals G4
    23 2005 NLDS Game 4
    24 2000 Eastern Semis G4
    25 2005 Champions League Final

Yeah, that game gets my vote as well. Giants over Pats would be my second choice.

I voted for the Fiesta Bowl base on the sheer fact that OSU wasn't supposed to be in the game let alone win it

UConn Syracuse in the Big East Semis from last year has to be on this list.
6 OT and every second of regulation was a grind.

    O-H ...

I shoulda figured the OSU game would win this poll

Love Ohio State and that was a GREAT game but there are others on this list that are better. Not surprised though with the result considering the location of almost all forum members.

It's a toss up of OSU/TheU and UT/USC. I think the UT game was more exciting, but the OSU game has a shock value I havn't seen in awhile. Both Super Bowls probably follow. I have to put championship games before anything else.

I was torn between OSU-Miami and Giants-Pats. I knew OSU would get a lot of love, so I went with the Super Bowl: my favorite team, a huge underdog, upsets the mighty 18-0 Pats. Sprinkle in the catch of the decade, plus the fact that I watched the game from Rio de Janeiro ... awesome memory.

For me it is the OSU/Miami Fiesta Bowl, but I am biased since I am a Buckeyes fan. Unbiased opinion says Boise St. over Oklahoma.

    ^^^this

Texas vs. USC was my favorite.

It came in at #10 in the voting, so it just missed making my poll. Unfortunately I can only have ten options, so I opted for top 9+other.

lmao at those voting for the OSU/Miami game saying shock value or upset as the reason. Boise vs Oklahoma was just as big of a shock and they were just as big an underdog. But that game was unbelievable and changed the way people look at mid majors in football.

Ill give you that one was for a title and the other wasnt. But the game itself wasnt near what Boise/Miami was.

That Wimbledon match was awesome and it won't get much appreciation due to it being tennis. I would go with Ohio St vs Miami or the Ok vs Boise St game.

Voted for Phelps winning by .01

It's not suprising not to see any hockey on these polls. The best hockey game of the decade was voted upon by hockey fans, and it came out to be game 5 of the 2008 SCF. Here's the youtube link..........

What made this game so special was all of the incredible saves, 3 OT's, and Petr Sykora calling his goal.
  • gorocks99
There is one hockey game on the full list, the 2000 Eastern Conference semis, game 4 .. Tugger w/ a 70-save LOSING performance. Yikes.

    ^^^^^I didn't see it.

I too voted for the OSU v Miami Fiesta Bowl, not just because I am a Buckeye fan. The media gave Ohio State no chance. Miami was an unstoppable force again, and favored by what 21pts heading into the game. College gameday and the talking heads were unwatchable as they dogged OSU and all hailed praise to the U! Well Ohio State came out and hit Miami in the mouth repeatedly! And many, many, many forget that game should have never gone to OT if the official didn't blow the call on Gamble's 3rd down reception that would have given the Bucks the 1st down to run out the clock but the official called him out of bounds when replay clearly showed in.

    2007 Fiesta Bowl hands down

    Pats vs. Giants

Texas vs. USC was the best college football game I've ever watched, and I'm a Buckeye fan. Boise State/OU is 1a.
