Yeah, the "baby stumps" is $1300. I just looked them up, as I am actually looking for a smoker, but my price range is <$500Bio-Hazzzzard;1122409 wrote:A big green egg costs about the same. I compete in bbq competitions and have used both and each work very well, but lb for lb the stumps is superior. They do have a small one (not sure of the cost) that would be more suitable for a family or small parties. You are 100% correct, they are very pricey. -

The best bang for your buck in that price range is the Weber smokey mountain. I have a 22.5 and I can cook for 13 to 15 hours with one load of coals depending on weather.LJ;1122414 wrote:Yeah, the "baby stumps" is $1300. and 18.5" is $299 on Amazon with free shipping. Could I do most anything on an 18.5?Bio-Hazzzzard;1122422 wrote:The best bang for your buck in that price range is the Weber smokey mountain. I have a 22.5 and I can cook for 13 to 15 hours with one load of coals depending on weather.
What about propane smokers? Are they shit? -

You can, just less. A rack of ribs will have to be cut in half or rolled where you can fit several on at once. A little small for me but you can make any piece of meat you throw on there taste like you cooked it on a $5,000 cooker.LJ;1122426 wrote:and 18.5" is $299 on Amazon with free shipping. Not a big fan of propane cookers, but they do work, just don't get the flavor IMO. -
