Blago heads to jail for 14 years starting tomorrow!

IggyPride00Former Governor Rod Blagojecvich heads to jail tomorrow to start a 14 year prison sentence (must serve 85% of the sentence at minimum before parole) after his conviction last year.
He made his last public statement today before turning himself in the morning.
I can't even imagine what it must be like on your last night of freedom knowing in the morning you are headed to jail for a minimum of 12 years. That is a long ass time.
He deserves it for trying to sell the Senate seat, but I just found myself thinking about how nuts it is to think when you wake up in the morning you lose your freedom for the next decade plus. I would be losing my mind.

Excellent evidence you've presented there.ccrunner609;1116495 wrote:What sucks is that we all know that Obama knew about this and was lobbying for his old seat to remain a black politician. Obama was right in the middle of it. -
rydawg5I'm not a huge fan of this. I feel he could be punished more effectively by placing him on house arrest and forcing him to give all of his belongins and savings/$$ to the state of Illinois. Also, would have to give 40hours per week to community service for 20 years.
He isn't a threat to anyone and all my sentencing would do is make an improvement to the state monetarily and the community by the hours he'd spend contributing to it.
Instead we make him sit in a cell? -

Little DannyHere's a dubious honor: Four of the past eight governors from Illinois have gone to prison.

Mulva14 years seems excessive for trying to sell a Senate seat. Like maybe 10 years excessive.
That said, if there's one thing the U.S. government won't stand for it's people trying to make a mockery of the U.S. government. -
passwordThat sucks for him, knowing that someone will be banging his wife for the next 10 yrs.
