BOWLING GREEN -- Four people are dead, including three Bowling Green State University students, and two people are injured Friday morning following a head-on collision on northbound I-75 north of Bowling Green.
The northbound lanes were open by 6:15 a.m. after being closed for hours while emergency crews responded to the scene.
A vehicle was driving the wrong way south in the northbound lanes and crashed into a northbound vehicle before 2:30 a.m. near mile marker 186 about a mile south of State Route 582, according to the Wood County post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Killed were the female driver of the southbound vehicle and three young women in the northbound vehicle, according to Lieutenant Dean Laubacher of the patrol.
Three of those killed were BGSU students, according to a statement from the university. ""The thoughts and prayers of the BGSU community are with our students and their families at this difficult time," it stated.
Two injured female victims from the northbound vehicle were taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, where they were listed in critical condition, the lieutenant said.
The BGSU students all were in their early 20s and were heading to the Detroit Metro Airport, he said. The university is entering its spring break period. -

This isn't always the case, especially with the woman being 69 years old, she could have been confused after a stroke, been in diabetic shock, or a number of other things, including intoxication. I know its easy to jump to conclusions so that we can quickly blame someone for being in the wrong, but it doesn't always have to be someone's fault. Unfortunately bad things sometimes just happen.Raw Dawgin' it;1102836 wrote:Based on what you posted, sounds like a drunk bitch didn't have enough sense to call a cab. -

Good post. Also, even if it was someone that was drunk it wouldn't have been any less tragic.Mooney44Cards;1102999 wrote:This isn't always the case, especially with the woman being 69 years old, she could have been confused after a stroke, been in diabetic shock, or a number of other things, including intoxication. Laley23Crazy enough, I was driving back from Bowling Green last week and decided to stop at my parents house (off the Fremont/PBurg exit). As Im circling on the ramp to the light I have to slam on the breaks and swerve out of the way. Some idiot was trying to enter the highway on the exit ramp. I think I saved their life as they didnt realize it until I came and dodged their car. They then just drove over the median to the on ramp.
Granted, this was about 11pm and it was the rainy night we had. So visibility sucked, but still ridiculous. -

Read what was in the first post. It does kinda sound like at first the blame was on the college kids.BOWLING GREEN -- Four people are dead, including three Bowling Green State University students, and two people are injured Friday morning following a head-on collision on northbound I-75 north of Bowling Green.

Further proof that old people shouldn't drive.Mooney44Cards;1102999 wrote:This isn't always the case, especially with the woman being 69 years old, she could have been confused after a stroke, been in diabetic shock, or a number of other things, including intoxication..
also the above comment -
SonofanumpThe accident happened just south of the SR582 exit, but the OSHP stated that the car entered from north of the 475/75 split. It must have entered the SR20 exit the wrong way.

Hey. Old people, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose.Mooney44Cards;1103051 wrote:Ya because only old people have diabetes and suffer from strokes. -

2kool4skoolAfter the age of 60, you should have to take your drivers license test every 5 years. We're way too easy on old people in this country.

Retake the test at 60, 65, 70. At 70 it goes to every 2 years. At 80, every year. -

mcburg93I believe that there should be a mental test for people in general. If a person shows signs of road rage for people driving slower then the posted speed limit they should not be allowed to have a license.

What constitutes "signs of road rage?"mcburg93;1103126 wrote:I believe that there should be a mental test for people in general. If a person shows signs of road rage for people driving slower then the posted speed limit they should not be allowed to have a license.
I'll get upset, call 'em a dickhead or possible yell if they really screw with the flow of traffic, but I'm not going to run them off the road or follow them and beat the crap out of them. -

Getting angry cause you was cut off, calling people a dickhead, or possible yell if they screw the flow of traffic. Seriously though I was just poking fun of people from the other thread about what grinds your gears.justincredible;1103131 wrote:What constitutes "signs of road rage?"

Mooney44CardsYeah I'd be more for EVERYONE has to take a driving test every 5 years. The majority of bad drivers I see are well under 60 years old.

Your driving ability doesn't deteriorate between 16 and 25, or 25 and 30,.etcMooney44Cards;1103162 wrote:Yeah I'd be more for EVERYONE has to take a driving test every 5 years. The majority of bad drivers I see are well under 60 years old.
But changes in vision, mental awareness, reaction time, memory,.etc. are common in people over 60. Passing the test at 16 has no bearing on whether one is a capable driver at 60.
