No, the thread is misleading, it states who is the best Heavyweight fighter of all time when it should state who is the greatest HW BOXER of all time. Being the greatest HW boxer does not equate to being the greatest fighter of all time.Thinthickbigred;1093823 wrote:Johanson? another white hope -
BAMABUCKJack Johnson IMO. Nearly 100 fights some 45-50 rounds in the Jim Crow era thats one tough SOB!. Just my pick cause I like him. Im just waiting on the arguments to start because you can make and arguement for GOAT on each of them.

dontcareRocky Marciano. 49-0, 43 ko's. He would have wooped Tyson's butt.

FatHobbit
Channel 34 had a nice special about him 5 or 6 years ago.BAMABUCK;1093833 wrote:Jack Johnson IMO. Nearly 100 fights some 45-50 rounds in the Jim Crow era thats one tough SOB!. Y-Town SteelhoundFirst of all, LOL to the incredible lack of knowing how to spell anyone's name correctly (who the fuck are Rocky Maciano, Joe Lewis, and George Forman? Apparently Larry Holmes wasn't worthy of having his last name capitalized. My favorite may be "Holyfield" as apparently either Evander is too hard to spell or we're talking about a large patch of land used for religious ceremonies.) Second, Mike Tyson was great but never really beat anyone relevant (except for Larry Holmes who was well past his prime). Couldn't beat Holyfield, couldn't beat Lennox Lewis, couldn't be Buster freaking Douglas. Tyson was more flash than substance though had his trainer lived his entire career, that may have changed things dramatically.
Honestly you can make an argument for any of these guys but as great as Ali was, I have to go with Joe Louis. 25 title defenses, a bunch of quality wins, had a huge cultural impact on not just boxing but the whole world. I don't think anyone on this list could touch Joe Louis in his prime. -

You missed my point again lol, I can name several MMA fighters who would put an ass whooping on these heavyweights in an actual fight which is what you asked, who is the best HW FIGHTER of all time. There are better fighters than boxers.Thinthickbigred;1093886 wrote:Greatest or best . Interpret it how you like . -
Scarlet_BuckeyeAli, followed extremely close by Tyson.
