What Vinyls Do You Have?

  • sherm03
Just bought a record player today, and bought a few albums from a record store down the street from me.

I got "Chulahoma" by the Black Keys and "Miles Davis: Live at Carnegie Hall." I also just ordered two albums from Red Wanting Blue, and a Flogging Molly album.

Anyone else collect vinyls? What do you have?

I have about 90 I would guess. Some thats been mentioned and a bunch of old country. Have about ten nascar races on vinyl too. Not sure how I even got those seeing how I hate nascar. Some big band stuff and old comedy singers that I'm guessing came from the thirties cause it seems that era of jokes.

As an avid music lover, I plan on starting a vinyl collection once I graduate and have the money.

Classic rock stuff and some 70 stuff. Most proud of my Quiet Riot picture discs and pristine early Metallica albums. Stopped listening to them so often cause its hard to find needles.

At my mom's house, I have a box loaded with vinyls. Some day, I'll have to buy a record player, so I can reclaim them, as a few of them, I'd really like to listen to again. Particularly, my copy of Iron Maiden's Live After Death. I have it on CD, but to shorten it to fit on one CD, they deleted the second side of the second record, which has killer versions of Phantom of the Opera and 22 Acacia Avenue. And they also cut out the whole audience participation part of Running Free.

probably close to 300 --- gotta be worth a pretty penny I would think .... especially things like a bootleg Springsteen Live at the Winterland in San Fran from '78 etc... Someday will need to figure out how to extract maximum value from all or some of them.
