FOR ME:
Super Tecmo Bowl (primarily the NES one, but the last SNES one where you could make a couple trades and sign free agents also kicked ass).
Legend of Zelda

Final Fantasy 3 (FF VI in Japan, but 3 in America because it was the third of the six to be released there)
Alundra (PS1 game that was a lot like Zelda)
