Favorite Iphone apps?
-
birddog23Just got an iPhone earlier this week. What are some of your favorite or most used iPhone apps?
-
Commander of AwesomeI like the email, calendar, weather, safari, maps, iPod, AP Mobile, Browns, and Instagram apps
Most apps outside of games I find to be useless and just going to the site through the internet function is better. -
se-alumGroup Text. It allows you to create texts lists, and gets you around the limited amount of people you can put in a regular text.
-
derek bomaryou need sound hound... it's much better than shazzam. You can hum a song and it will pick it up.
-
derek bomaralso... Spotify.
-
Commander of AwesomeDon't you need a premium account for spotify?
-
Scarlet_BuckeyeGmail - much better than the email feature that comes pre-loaded on the phone
The Weather Channel - although I'll admit, I rarely use this app.
Social- Facebook - the app itself sucks (I think), but it's an essential for any Facebook user
- Tweetbot - BY FAR the best Twitter client for Twitter users; I was hesitant at first about paying for an app when there's a free one, but the official Twitter app pales in comparison to Tweetbot.
- Google+ - best social network site no one is using
- LinkedIn - although I'm contemplating deleting it just because the "alerts" are annoying and I rarely use it.
- Flipboard - this is more of a "news" app, but because you can sync it with Twitter and Facebook, I group it under Social. It's really just a coolneat way of laying out your Facebook & Twitter timelines. But I also use it for reading various news sections like Technology, Sports, Gaming, News, etc.
- Pinterest - started off addicting as all hell; now it's kinda fizzled. Yeah it's a girly app, but there's a lot of good recipes on there that I enjoy making.
- Instagram - last year's App of the Year winner; allows you to take pictures and then quickly apply amateur-level photoshopping spruces to your pics
- Pandor - this is a must
- Shazam - wondering what the name of that song is or who sings it? Just shazam it.
- XM Radio - must have a subscription, but if you do, it's a create way to stay plugged into your satellite radio
- Spotify - I downloaded this for the free trial. It really is awesome, but unless you are willing to pay like $9 a month (which I'm not), then it's really not worth downloading. But essentially you can listen to any song by any artist at any time (assuming you pay)
- ScoreMobile - a must
- WatchESPN - certain cable providers allow you to watch Live ESPN networks on your phone
- ESPN FFL
- ESPN FBA
- X Games
- BTN2Go
- Flixster - great for finding out movie times
- IMDb - great for finding out actors & titles
- Netflix - must have a subscription, but if you do, you can watch movies or shows on your phone. Great for when you are waiting at the airport etc.
- What's On? - allows you to see what's on TV
- TWC TV - Time Warner Cables app. If you need to DVR a show and you are not home, simply use this app to do so.
- Mint - great tool for tracking your finances and budgets
- Just about any major bank has an app for your checking account
- same with credit card companies
- Poynt - great for finding places, like restaurants, gas stations, etc.
- Where - see above
- Nike+ GPS - helps me track all of my runs and motivates me to continue running
- Fooducate - allows you to scan barcodes of grocery items and then tells you if they are healthy or not
- Angry Birds - kind of an essential... good game for curing boredom.
Shopping- KeyRing - know all those annoying loyalty rewards things that you have on your key chain? Poof! No more. Use your phone for that
- Amazon - great for comparing prices
- Best Buy Reward Zone - weekly ads; great for comparing instore prices with online deals. Can't tell you how many times I've saved money when purchasing a product instore because of price matching
- Target - weekly ads; same as Best Buy
-

AutomatikSo the gmail app is worth downloading?
I recently got the Livestrong MyPlate to track diet and workouts. It was 2.99, but worth it IMO. Works very well. -

I think you're right. I think that might have been a limited time deal. Glad I got in on it when I didse-alum;1088817 wrote:Is Box.net still free? I thought it was for a limited time only?
Yes, the Gmail app is VERY much worth it. MUCH better than the standard email feature.Automatik;1088822 wrote:So the gmail app is worth downloading?

It does a lot, very useful.Scarlet_Buckeye;1089147 wrote: Talk to me more about the Livestrong MyPlate app. How does it work? What does it do? Thanks!
You can track calories, weight, your workout. I got it primarily for the diet features. It has a library of thousands of foods with their nutritional info so you can log throughout the day, week, etc. I'm easing myself into a new diet/workout regimen and its much different than anything I've done before so I figured this could only help in regards to what I eat.

The EqualizerThey have a new flashlight app which is 100x better than any of the older ones, or maybe its better because I have a 4S now. Angry Birds of course. ESPN Radio, scorecenter, twitter, facebook, I prefer meebo for my instant messaging, HBOGO if you're an HBO subscriber, if you do yahoo fantasy sports they have very good apps to keep up with your team, if you play MW3 and have Elite, there's a nice app for that, FML, hanging/words with friends, lately I've used baby first TV's app more than anything because its the only thing that settles my 1 year old down.

j_crazyI have an xm account. But the app wont let me do it.
