Get the fuck out of here with the bullshit, you pretentious fucking douche bags.

I'm saying that I don't care who you are, it makes you feel good to know that your SO has thought enough of you to go out of his way to get you something. And it doesn't matter if it's a Tiffany's ring or a $2 rose, it really is the thought that counts. That's all. Switch it around and it makes you guys feel good too to know that your woman went out of her way to do something special for you. No games, just all about love, baby!
I don't consider doing something on Valentine's Day as going out of anyones way. On a random day, that would be going out of your way. JMO -

exactly, valentines day is stupid. be a good SO the rest of the year and it won't matter.dwccrew;1087160 wrote:I don't consider doing something on Valentine's Day as going out of anyones way. On a random day, that would be going out of your way. JMO -

Right? How am I going out of my way to do it on the same day that every other guy is expected to do something?pnhasbeen;1087180 wrote:exactly, valentines day is stupid. be a good SO the rest of the year and it won't matter. -

iluvzI find it patronizing to buy someone a gift or do something nice just because a calendar tells you to, and society says you're a douche bag if you don't. I just don't get how that's supposed to make someone feel special. Neither of us even thought to tell the other Happy Valentines Day this year. This is our 4th V-day together and was the first year he finally trusted that my dislike for fake flattery wasn't a trick. And no I couldn't care less about getting anything for my birthday or for Christmas. In fact we haven't exchanged gifts for either in 2 years.
