Grilling: Great recipe for steaks

If you are buying a good cut of meat, why the tenderizer. Sea salt and cracked pepper on both sides with a little roasted garlic on one side and you are good to go. At least that's how we like it.

I may get crazy and use Italian dressing on my steak. Also like the spicy A1 which has tabasco.

my great grilled steak recipe...you can try it if you like

Take 1/4 stick of butter and inside melt it in a pan over a semi high heat....in the meantime season your steaks with a mixed bag (pre mixed , throw it in a zip lock and shake it up then put it in a shaker and shake it on) 1Tbls of Onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and a teaspoon of chili powder. Put that mix in a a shaker, and shake it over one side of the steak, put it in the pan and sear it for 60 seconds, season the other side while the meat is searing then flip the meat. Wait a second 60 seconds then put on the grill

This sears the flavor of the spice in the meat when it cooks out. Now put it on your favorite open pit or grill...cook it to your desired temperature.....and enjoy the flavor! Experiment with your own combinations....

If you're grill is the right temp, you shouldn't need to sear in a pan. Steak should be grilled on a 500 degree grill.

    ^Agreed

My rub, I have posted before is GOAT

    1 Tsp Ground Mustard
    1/4 Tsp Rosemarry
    3/4 Tsp Kosher Salt
    1/2 Tsp Fresh Ground Pepper
    1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder

Mix and rub on the steak before you sear. Good for 2 steaks.

I"m finally mastering the indoor steak methods. I have no means to grill or even own a grill. :(
A good gas broiler can solve that problem, otherwise you are doing it right.

If you buy high quality meat, you don't need to cook it. Just eat it raw, like our ancestors.
