Ironman92Looks like we have a starting 5
Ernest coming off the bench -
slcoachJust a little over 500. More of a facilitator on some pretty good teams. Played around 65 games and started about 40-45.

4 year starter, but didnt get moved up till after my 7th game of JV ball. Career high of 46. My teams always sucked (save winning the league my freshman year), so clearly I didnt shoot enough -
Rotinaj1 more than the highest anyone else posts.

MV. Admittedly, pathetic competition, within the conference. We played some pretty good teams out of conference because of who my coach was.ernest_t_bass;1070820 wrote:School? -
karen lotzdon't know exact number, but I'd guess a little under 600. didn't play meaningful minutes on varsity until about the 4th game of sophomore year and didn't score much that year.

RotinajI think he went 2 maumee valley. They played inthe taac. GOAT league in Ohio.

Ill tell you what though, I wouldve never stayed at MV if Coach Robinson was there. Wouldve been at SJJ. I love the guy as a coach, but holy shit I would have gone nuts and been benched every other game in that system. Its worse than Wisconsin, and I play at UNC pace lol. -
karen lotzI played against Robinson's Lake team. Absolutely brutal, but it was effective for them.
-
RotinajI was a freshman at lake when Robinson was coach. We practiced w them a couple times and holy shit was it terrible.

He is letting this years team run a BIT, because he has a PG who is at a ridiculous 5.9/1 Ast/TO Ratio. I think he has 13 turnovers in about as many games. Of course, if they have a 10 pt lead, its like 2 minutes off the clock each possession. But hey, it works. in 3 years he has MV as the team to beat in NWO for Div 4.Rotinaj;1070836 wrote:I was a freshman at lake when Robinson was coach. ...and yeah. I seriously wouldve left. I almost did anyway, but I wanted to play soccer. Heinschel said I couldnt play soccer once I made varisty bball. Plus, I had a great relationship with Deon Thompson from 8th grade summer, who became coach about the time I was brought up from JV. I played on Shane Komives team for AAU, but I didnt necessarily enjoy it, despite being good friends with Zach Hillseland. Couldnt stand playing with Mike Floyd. I dont regret my decision, but sometimes wonder "what if" I was on some of the SJJ teams of the time. -
RotinajI remember watching those st johns teams play libbey and st Francis. Some amazing talent on those teams.

RotinajAlso, is porter still coaching with him?

I remember being courtside at Savage and watching Nate Miles pull up from the "Rocket". Kid was probably the best pure talent to come out of Toledo is a LONG time. Buford also in those games. Then you had Hillseland, Raymond and Roberts for SJJ. So much talent on the court that year. Roberts was about 3014716 times more fun to play with than Floyd, who never passed the ball and thought he was amazing. He was like our 4th best player.Rotinaj;1070848 wrote:I remember watching those st johns teams play libbey and st Francis. Some amazing talent on those teams.
Nate Miles, btw, is back in Toledo doing nothing with his life. Ran into him with my friend out at an "open court". I have no clue if this is true, but he said, he got an invite to the Heat camp and just didnt go. Was afraid of what the people back in TOLEDO would think if he failed. Lol.
Not sure.Rotinaj;1070851 wrote:Also, is porter still coaching with him? -
MulvaI would guess only around 225.
Split time between JV/Varsity as a sophomore (got minutes in 7-8 varsity games), then varsity starter junior and senior seasons, probably played the 2nd most minutes on the team, but only averaged around 5 ppg both years.
Was top 3 on the team in assists, steals, blocks, and rebounds and I marked the top opposing player at any position other than PG, so I earned my keep in other ways. I was the Lenzelle Smith of my high school.
