Any Indie Rock fans on here?

sjmvsfscs08First off, I absolutely hate country (except old Alan Jackson and Johnny Cash), and I hate the vast majority of rap. I used to consider myself a gigantic alternative rock fan, as well as basically anything from the 1990s. Unfortunately the 1990s were a decade ago.
Over the last few years I have slowly but surely become fed up with the terrible music that people seem to enjoy these days. I used to listen to 89X and 106.5 The Zone religiously, but to be honest the music just sucks now. About three months ago my friends were gracious enough to inform me that the best music isn’t played on the radio, and that what is played on the radio is mostly corporate bullshit that lacks originality and creativity.
I have since immersed myself in Indie Rock, I have to admit it’s pretty fantastic. It’s very hit-or-miss, due to the lack of corporate quality control, but what is good is amazing.
Any other Indie Rock fans out there? Here are some of my favorites:
Frightened Rabbit, Scotland
Head Rolls Off:
Keep Yourself Warm:
The Arcade Fire, Canada
Wake Up: (LIVE: )
Rebellion (Lies):
Spoon, Texas
I Summon You:

MulvaThe Format and Jack's Mannequin are both solid. Or I guess "were" in the Format's case.
I'm more into individual songs than bands as a whole though. -
slidepieceI'm really starting to get into Silverspun Pickups. If you haven't you should really check them out.

that_guyI'm a big Indie Rock fan, some of my current favs are as follows. A lot of these are Portland bands, as I'm a bit biased towards them as I get to see them play more often. Great city to live in if you like indie rock.
Okkervil River
The National
Elliott Brood (not sure they actually count as indie rock, more bluegrass)
The Hold Steady
Fleet Foxes
Modest Mouse (probably the band that got me into indie music the most, they are now living in Portland)
Shins (originally from New Mexico, now live in Portland)
Blitzen Trapper (Portland band, amazing- see them live if you can)
Nurses (freak-folk band from Portland)
Blind Pilot (More mellow folk band from Portland, really good)
Menomena

I checked them out. They are almost too happy for me, but some of the stuff is pretty solid. All the pretty girls has been stuck in my head all day today.I Wear Pants wrote: Yeah but fun. is basically a happier The Format. You should check them out. -

Upper90I can't really add to these great lists, but just say that yes. I do like indie rock a bunch, though I don't think that's surprising to anyone that's read any of my posts regarding music.
It's a love for quality music in general, and I find a lot of it in this medium.
