    LG LW6500

    comes in 42, 47, and 55

I know you are anti 3D, but the 2D picture is top of the line.

Can't go wrong with either. Search out the specs you want and find the best price.

You're a baller, so I'd go with one of the top notch Samsung edgeless models.

I've had a 50" Sony Bravia 1080P for 2 years now. Picture and quality is great..

As for the question, Samsung and LG both make good televisions, so really it's up to your preference and the prices between the comparable models.

Plasmas still seem to be the best overall value, and often the best quality. Samsung, I think it was, unveiled a killer OLED at CES, but those prices will be ridiculous for a year or two.

Samsung and Panasonic consistently get the best reviews for plasma tv's, but you still have to do your research for the best models because value/quality still differ considerably even for those brands.

I like CNET for reviews. Sure, maybe some reviewers are better than others and there can be legit opinions for differing, but my perspective is you probably won't go wrong taking their advice - maybe you don't end-up with the best or best value, but you'll have a good one.

LG and Samsung are both made by slant eyes bastards from South Korea. Probably the only difference between the two would be features.

Depends on the lighting in your room, I believe. Plasma is best for dark rooms. At least that is what I've heard.
  • dlazz
    I prefer Samsung over LG.
  • gorocks99
Had a Samsung, but the capacitors blew on it after 3 years. Not sure if they've resolved that issue, but I hear it is (or was) a pretty common problem with the brand.
