Do you need to know that stuff when you're watching first graders play with the big parachute?

Knowing the biomechanics of human movement was why I was elite in grade school dodgeball.

Those weren't big words like 'masterbation'. (Isn't he going to teach Health next year or was that ETB ???)

What I gather is people who barely can get into college become gym teachers.

That's a far stretch. You only use those words in your defense. I'd put my life savings on the fact that you don't incorporate these actual things into your daily lesson plans. I've been a long term sub for a gym teacher, and I've worked with a few. Their lesson plans include:

    Monday: Whiffle ball
    Tuesday: Whiffle ball
Wednesday: Run laps, jump rope, sideline basketball
    Thursday: Scooter races
Friday: Fucking dodgeball, OMG! Hell yeah!

    Translated ...
Monday: Keep kids busy because no one truly gives a fuck about me, or phys. ed.
Tuesday: Keep kids busy because no one truly gives a fuck about me, or phys. ed.
Wednesday: Keep kids busy because no one truly gives a fuck about me, or phys. ed.
Thursday: Keep kids busy because no one truly gives a fuck about me, or phys. ed.
Friday: Keep kids busy because no one truly gives a fuck about me, or phys. ed.

    fify so CCrunner could relate.

Neither are regular teachers. Just ask ETB.

The ones that do not care for their students are the dumb ones. When I say care for I mean do actually teaching instead of rolling the ball out.

Are gym teachers exercise science or kinesiology majors?

I took biomechanics and Kinesiology, anatomy and phys., I took extra exercise physiology courses to get an extra certificate or endorsement. Most colleges require a health degree also. It is 2 years of pretty intense and deep science courses
Followed by a lifetime of sitting on your ass and babysitting kids at work. Pretty sweet deal for you there...

Premed? Get out. Did you take a year of physics, year of chemistry, year of ochem, year of calculus, year of foreign language and biochemistry?

And just "taking a class" doesn't quantify you as smart. First of all it depends on the rigor of your university. Also, anyone who gets into a college can take almost all classes that don't have a prerequisite. Actually learning the material and using it in your daily life is totally different.

    I is.

    Hope this'd help.

In regards to just taking classes and actually doing stuff with the material................we took "applied" classes where you didnt learn things but had to use things.
Yeah, taking the fucking 101 level classes doesn't count with the first year pre-med students. Majority that don't ever go to medical school and probably end up becoming stupid fucking gym teachers.
