How do you define what is considered a "good school"?

  Try Nebraska if you want the B1G label.

  Kinda what MB said, colleges are overstating a lot of statistics right now. I was hoping instead of doing useless things like standing outside in tents, that the OWS would do something useful and sue the schools over falsified employment data for graduates.

  Firmwide, my class (summer of '07) was over 160. I think our firmwide summer class now is closer to 25. Last summer, we had 3 in our office (compared to more than 30 in my year). Combined with widespread layoffs all around, it's been pretty brutal.

  Oh yes of course it is overstated, but in my experience I am very happy with the quality of my degree. I got a full ride to get a Master's at UGA which is a top graduate level program in my field. My friends that graduated in may all have jobs. This could be due to the fact that there are a disproportionate number of engineering students there, and they tend to be placed much more quickly. Not saying that Clemson is better than most other state schools, of which there are a ton of quality schools, just that it is a great school for the output of your life.
  
  The information I posted was not originated at Clemson, but from an independent research firm the National Survey of Student Engagement. I am well aware that most decent/good schools would have similar numbers when compared to EVERY college in the USA.
  
  But from what I have seen at graduate school, I am more than well prepared when compared to students from Duke, UNC, Cornell, Louisville, UGA, Florida, Ohio State, South Carolina and the other schools where my friends here went for undergrad. And it is true I may be an exception to the general rule of the school who knows.
  
  All this being said US News and World report BS is a joke and is a point of contention with our alumni base and our administration, who are obsessed with these rankings.

  Schools are only so good. There are only a few schools in this country where having the name on your resume will get you the job (Ivy League). Other than that, you get from your education what you put in it. Seeking internships and experience as well as education will serve anyone much more than just going to a "good" school.
