Pick6Evan Spencer, son of legendary Tim Spencer fro St.C is currently playing for the Buckeyes. The DeLande kid's parents are from Shadyside and St. C as well. Its too bad the OV can't keep people there, but it is what it is. Can't stay there if you want to make a decent living outside of phyical labor your whole life.

End of LinePeople from the Valley are all over the place up here. I had a class at Cstate with people from River, Shadyside, Bridgeport, and Ferry.
Whenever people see me wearing a Martins Ferry shirt people come out of no where to talk to me. -

I know I will not be going back there after college. No opportunity. -
Manhattan BuckeyeProbably 3/4 of my high school class live in either Columbus or Cincinnati (or their respective suburbs). Anyone who works and doesn't work in the local hospital or public schools had to move. There are no jobs.

gerb131Just had Dicarlos tonight. In the Valley for work and it sucks. Be in Steubenville tomorrow if anyone wants to grab a beer.

I'm from Columbus but my parents are from Ferry and Bridgeport. I spent a lot of my childhood down in Ferry though.Pick6;1048603 wrote:are you from there?

Little DannyIsn't there still a DiCarlo's in Hilliard?
There used to be one in Dublin and I believe Pickerington as well, but those ones folded up shop. The Dublin store was in a terrible location and they did not market themsevels at all. Business takes me back to the Ohio Valley all the time and whenever I am at the court house in St. C, I make sure to bring home a tray.
As far as the migration goes, it is huge. In particularly there seems to be tons of folks from the Valley in places like Pickerington, Blacklick, Reynoldsburg and the eastside of Columbus. I guess it helps shorten that commute back to visit relatives. -
ManO'WarMost of my class from Big Red live in Cbus.
When we played Watterson up there a few years ago the Big Red people took over the stadium....a lot of the Big Red fans were ones that lived up in Cbus. -

There's a Defelice Bros. on Livingston Avenue--- not Hilliard, but you don't have to go all the way back to the Valley to pick up a pie.The_Crosby_Show;1050012 wrote:There's still one here in Hilliard.
