Christmas Breakfast or Dinner
-
Belly35Does anyone else have a family traditional Christmas Breakfast and or Dinner planned?
What is on the menu?
Any other Family Christmas Tradition you or your Family have?
The Belly family tradition is for a Christmas Breakfast before opening the gifts sometime around 9:00AM.
The Christmas Breakfast is made of a Christmas Casserole, Croissants, Coffee and Orange juice and lots of different flavored jellies and jams.
Later that day I prepare traditional Christmas Dinner generally served around 6:00PM.
The dinner main meat/poultry/ fish course is never the same I decided the course. This year it is Prime Rib, with special mushroom gravy, salad, corn, green beam casserole, twice bake potatoes, my grandmother Chicken noodle soup, dinner rolls and relish tray.
The gifts and present are great but having the family all together for dinner is very special. It is a labor of love for my family.

justincredibleBreakfast at my mom's. We have homemade coffee cake every Christmas morning (or whatever morning I end us visiting and opening presents).
Dinner at her parent's. No idea what we're having. -
Fab4RunnerWe don't do breakfast or a traditional dinner. We have a party on Christmas night and we usually have ham and then a bunch of dips, chips, cheese, cookies, etc. I will be making cheesy potatoes, festive jello shots (if I have time) and these:
No Guinness, though. Yuengling, Christmas Ale, Bud Light and Budweiser most likely. -
gerb131Always steak and shrimp for supper on Christmas day.

power iFab, I'm stealing your idea. Those are too cute.
Husband works Christmas eve, so his kids will be with their mom. My daughter and her bf come down Christmas about noon and that's when his kids will get there. My parents are coming up and we are having prime rib, mashed potatoes, salad and rolls. And stuffed mushrooms for my vegitarian daughter. Mom brings dessert. When my husband works Christmas Day, the kids all come to our house and we get up extra early and open gifts before he leaves. There have been Christmas mornings when we've gotten up at 4:00am to get everything done before he goes to work. Then it's back to bed when he leaves. -

Second, I will try to whip up some good threads over the holidays. Holidays with my in-laws require unbelievable amounts of liquor. -
vball10setHoney Baked ham, Stanley's kielbasa, spicy Asian chicken wings, cheesy potatoes, veggie pizza, relish tray, hummus w/pita chips, and various desserts--and this is just for Christmas Eve.

Fab1bThe past couple years my girl and I have been hosting Christmas, since everyone else makes us come to them other holidays. I will make a dinner but I shake it up every year, not so much traditional. Example last year was sheppards pie. This year is a bit more traditional with ham, corn, mashed taters, green bean casserole, rolls, wine, cheesecake and some other goodies probably. The girl and I will get up about 9am, and exchange our gifts over coffee. Guests arrive after noon, eat about 3pm then gifts with the family.
