My buddy wants to sell me his Desert Eagle .40 for $350. I know it's a smaller version than the Mark XIX but is it still a decent gun. People online like theirs. Also it looks ~$500 new so $350 isn't too terrible for a gun that's less than a year old. He says nothing is wrong with it.. just needs extra Christmas money.

Could always buy a real gun instead of that piece of junk.

And what would that be? I have a S&W .357 revolver right now.

I assume it's a Baby Eagle .40. Pretty decent guns

I prefer the Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16, but I'm not a pussy.

It is. I don't have any semi-autos, only the revolver, so I was interested in this.

.223 is a pussy round. If you wanted to really make some type of informed statement, you would have said you prefered a .338 Lapua Mag AR-30

I used this site for checking weapons and comments from those who have bought weapons: http://gundirectory.com/

Bottom line is simple: do you want it, is it something you need and in the end do feel good about the deal and ownership... don't spend the money on less than what you want...

Or I just prefer the Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16. It's the best gun, book it!

You don't need to shoot one to know its the greatest weapon of all time. That's what makes it special.

    :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Actually, the Armalite AR-15 would probably be one of the greatest weapons ever invented. The M16 is a variant of the AR-15. The best current combat rifle right now would be the M4A1 Carbine.

The best all time battle rife was probably the M14, which was used for everything from a CQBR to a sniper rifle.

LJ grew up in a family that collects guns. LJ has studied guns since he was a kid. LJ started his 150+ gun collection when he was 13. LJ goes to a weekly meeting with other gun guys and sits around and smokes cigars, eats pizza and talks guns. LJ has probably owned more, shot more, and known more about guns than any person on this website.

As much as you want to try to troll on this, this is a topic where I will really tell you to STFU and.... go ahead, try me.

So $350 isn't too bad then? He claims he's only fired 50 rounds from it.

How hard up do you think he really is?

Do you know how to inspect a bore?

I'm not really sure. He's a widower with a younger daughter but he's got a decent job.

I have no idea how to inspect a bore.

Do you know if he is actually into guns at all, or just has 1 or 2 laying around.

I'm just asking all this because if he was really hard up on money and it was really in this good of shape, he could get that $350 from a shop. If he is clueless and just thinks it's a good resale price, then I say go for it.

He is. He was in the Airforce and collected ever since then. He doesn't have a ton but I'd imagine about a dozen.

He knows I was looking at semi-auto's, that's why he asked me.

If you're interested in selling the S&W let me know. That's the gun I am most interested in purchasing.
