Eminem named artist of the decade
-
NateNot a bad pic at all.
-
KnightXC1Probably wouldn't argue too much with that pick at all.
-
believerThere hasn't been too much to get excited about in the world of music since the 1980's so it wouldn't take much to be the - um - "best" this past decade.
-
Upper90This, I'm assuming had to be based solely off of record sales and nothing else.
Not so much that I gripe with Eminem (although, I suppose I do a bit...)
But, Nickelback was named the top group?
HAD to be all about units moved this decade. -
KnightXC1^^ The list was done by Billboard so I am sure it was based on record sales. You might hate Nickelback, but you can't argue the success they have had this decade with their album sales.
-
Strapping Young LadHaha!!!! People actually buy Nickelback records....

Haha people actually BUY CD's. I like Eminem, so I don't disagree with this pick, although he hasn't had a very good album since The Eminem Show. I don't really like Rap at all though, other then him.Strapping Young Lad wrote: Haha!!!! People actually buy Nickelback records.... -
TiernanKill me now if this idiot is artist of the decade.
-
SQ_CraziesShitty pick, but I don't often agree with mainstream music critics--maybe because mainstream radio junk isn't the best of the best. I love Eminem but he's no where near the artist of the decade. It's just all about what sells--funniest thing is, the things that sell are what the jam down peoples throats.
That being said, I'd much rather see him win it than someone like Beyonce lol. -
Strapping Young LadI agree w/ the pick...Em is great, better than any other rapper. Writes his own material unlike many other pop stars. Who else would it be?? 50 Cent??? Yeah right....

Guess that's the state of rock music these days :sNickelback was named top group. -
Swamp FoxEvery now and then I am thankful that I am a child of the sixties and grew up with some great music. This is certainly one of those times.

hoops23Meh, I don't really care about this award, but I definitely don't think Em was the artist of the decade.

Constantly reading the moronic posts you put up will probably do the trick at some point.dwccrew wrote:

LOL, you ask to be killed if Eminem is named artist of the decade then get upset when I ask how you want to be killed?Tiernan wrote:

Good insult too, that was very good. I'm willing to bet you never even have paid much attention to my posts until this one. -
GoPensCrappy decade for "artists"...

I agree. The 70's had the best music and artists.GoPens wrote: Crappy decade for "artists"... -
newarkcatholicfanSo-called popular music has really fallen on hard times.
-
Upper90I actually think this was a fantastic decade for music. Even popular music, to a degree.
This award was based off of what sold the most albums. That's the sole criteria. I'm sure if other criteria was included, maybe Eminem and Nickelback wouldn't be the top artist/group.
But, I also spend about 95% of my time around music in some fashion or another, so I can see why a casual listener might think music was poor this decade, but for me, I think it was just fine. I found that a lot of great bands came out post-2004, and a LOT of albums that will likely be considered classic records 20 years down the road. -
SageBig fan of pre-Encore Eminem...not sure I can agree with anybody who declares that Nickelback is the top group.
-
King CurtisNickelback the top group? Really??
-
jordo212000Wow. what a terrible day to be a music fan. Nickleback AND Eminem?

Which ones? At least in rock, the about the only decent newer band I can think of is Airbourne.
