Drivers who use 2 feet

That drive an automatic, what in the hell!
I was riding with my boss this morning to pick up a piece of equipment and he uses both feet to drive an automatic transmission car. I was scared shitless.

I hope you mean one foot on the brake and one on the gas, right?

I bet he masturbates with both hands.

my ex's mom drove like that...it was very disconcerting to ride with her...i cant beleive she's never been in a wreck

    I drive a stick shift.

    Hope this helps.

It drives me nuts to be behind a 2 footed driver. They rest their left foot on the brake sometimes and the brake lights go on. I always use that as a teaching moment for my teenagers in the car. I tell them not to drive like that!

Those are the kind of people who drive through the front windows of businesses.

I thought only women did this.

WTF? People really do this? I guess most all autos now are automatic.

I tried it once just to see what it was like. Anyone that drives an automatic with two feet needs their license revoked for life. There's no good reason for it.

    Only in the SEC...

My 79 yr old grandfather drives like that. Of course, that is the least of our worries about his driving.

Hey now. :( I drive with 2 feet, but I don't use them at the same time. Don't know why, I just do. I think my left foot got bored one day and just wanted something to do.

My stepdad does this. It's really annoying...but he's never been in an accident so oh well.

I had to one night after a football game. My left foot definitely isn't finesse enough to handle the braking. A lot of whiplash occurred

My father does it also. I asked him why, and he said it is from when he was a pilot and he had his feet on the pedals. The dragging the break thing drives me nuts when I am following him anywhere.

I cant stand it. I dont understand why anyone does it. It is more difficult and much more dangerous. Takes a lot of thinking and not just reacting when having to slam on the brakes.
  • Scarlet_Buckeye
I used to practice it because I thought it was a good idea in case I ever injured my right foot/leg and needed to rely on my left foot for driving.

    Hope this helps.

There's problems using the gas and brake with different feet. You can't guarantee that your foot is off the gas when pressing the brake.

Secondly, the brake isn't situated, in most cars, to be easily accessible for your left foot to hit. It's designed to be pivoted up from your right foot after you've released the gas. For a reason.

Yes you can. It's called lifting your right foot off the gas and pressing your left foot on the brake, or "multitasking."

Yea, I tried it once just for the hell of it. Just about threw myself through the windshield when I hit the break w/ my left foot.

Do it often and and don't have any problems with it. I never "rest" my left foot on the brake. Maybe it helps that I have drove a semi for 17 years and am use to using my left foot.... or maybe I just don't suck at driving like this. :p

    Same with my father.
