Even though some claim her stuff is unoriginal, I feel it's a race bw her, Beyonce and Taylor Swift for the Album of the Year Grammy, and I hope she wins.
They're up for "record" of the year.

Dave Matthews should win "album" of the year IMO. Shouldn't even be close.
They are all up for album of the year as well.

    Nominees:
    'I Am...Sasha Fierce'-Beyonce
    'The Fame'-Lady Gaga
    'The E.N.D.'-Black Eyed Peas
'Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King'-Dave Matthews Band
    'Fearless'-Taylor Swift

After looking at the full list, I think Taylor Swift has some very good chances. She's going to pull nearly all of the Academy's country vote as well as a lot of the pop music vote. Her album was good, the top seller of 2009 and she is riding a lot of momentum after the AMAs. The odds are in her favor right now. I don't think DMB runs away with it...they have some very stiff competition as all of the nominees are good this year.
your obviously biased...Dave went in a compeltely different direction with their music...Swift, Gaga, BEP, Beyonce, all went into the same type of music they are comfortable with..Dave deserves album of the year.
Biased towards who? I believe Lady Gaga should win yet proceeded to explain why I think odds are in Taylor Swift's favor right now. These awards are as much about politics as they are about anything else. Who deserves to win and who actually wins aren't always the same person.

Also, I don't see how Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga can go with something they're less comfortable with considering it is Swift's 2nd album and Lady Gaga was nominated for her first studio release. One can be afforded a change of direction when they have released 7 LPs. The two aforementioned are not at that point in their careers yet.

I do not think Beyonce nor BEP deserves Album of the Year. Although both were good, I just don't see an album with the words Sasha Fierce in its title or an album with a song titled Boom Boom Pow winning music's highest honor. Beyonce will clean up in the Hip Hop/R&B categories, though.

Dave Matthews is great, cool, relevant musician.

The Grammys are a growing joke, and this year's nominations are possibly the worst I've ever seen.

That said, I'd probably hate it the least if Taylor Swift wins album of the year. An award like that, at her age would be pretty cool, and though Matthews probably had the best record of that bunch, critically at least (though it pains me to say, as I'm not a Matthews fan...), he probably won't win.

I know the purpose of the Grammys going in, but I do just wish they would break tradition, and start to recognize better music, or at least make a more balanced effort to do so. Artists getting 6, 7, 8 nominations a piece doesn't speak to any kind of musical diversity....especially when you look at some of the artists not nominated at all.

Dave Matthews is the best, most talented and original artist out there.

Anything that DMB puts out is better than that talentless hack Taylor Swift. She is such a horrible performer and her songs suck. I don't know how she won as many awards as she did. Kanye may have been an ass for what he did (and I hate Kanye), but he was right.

Taylor Swift as a singer is absolute garbage, I will give her credit for writing her own songs though. Beyonce is vastly overrated and cannot wait for to fade into oblivion. The Black Eyed Peas are a fucking joke!! The fact that they are nominated for album of the year tells me the Grammy's have officially jumped the shark. "Only By The Night" by Kings of Leon should have been nominated.

LOL, LOOOOOOOOOVE people that smack talk DMB. Not to many things crack me up more than that.

LG is good. I 'll give it to her. She's probably the best thing pop music has going for it now. And way better than Dave Matthews.

What's so great about DMB anyway....He just found niche of people that were afraid of anything too edgy and played to them. The opposite of what great American music has done.

I completely agree but I don't know if it was released during the right time period.

If so, though, they were completely overlooked.

I think Lady Gaga at NYU (before she was Lady Gaga) is hot, she had talent too.

Now she is weird and her music is terrible. She reeks of "selling-out"

More people go to see Dave Matthews concerts to get drunk and high than to enjoy the music.

lady gagas pretty awesome!! im not a full out fan, but i listen to her songs and i love them!! my faves are poker face and paparazzi. And the song she did with beyonce, videophone, was good too.I think she should do something outside of the pop genre, to go along with her shock artist thing. surprise ppl by singing a blues/jazz song she's got the voice for it. Or go badass and do something with manson like others said, also got the voice for that too. Both will make ppl's jaws drop who don't know much about her. She's so talented, she could do any genre, because real talent needs no genre. It'll be cool to see her outside of pop/dance.

You are right. I looked it up and that album was released about 2 weeks too soon to be a nominee. I will tell you an album that is out already and better be nominated next year is the album by Them Crooked Vultures. It is awesome!!!!
