Have been filing out apps like crazy the past few days...

My friend owns 35 McDonalds, I could probably get you a job at one of those.

What degree? What school? What type of job are you pursuing? Do you have locational restrictions, or are you willing to relocate?

Major in sociology (focus in criminology) / minor in psychology. From BGSU, hoping to get something in the criminal justice field, but willing to look at others. Am willing to locate if its for a decent paying job. Have mostly been applying around here and some other spots in Ohio, but have started looking at other states such as Mississippi.

    Headhunter....do it.

Dont worry, according to the governor, the unemployment rate will continue to rise in 2010 and might see a .5% decrease in 2011. I am in the same boat as you though.

Any really good headhunter will storm your village at sunset with overwhelming force and cut off your head with a ceremonial knife.

Talk to profs and see if they have leads. Are you on linked in? Check craigslist and monster.com as well. Do you have an alumni association? Does it have a career bank? Hound the career center and seek out leads there.

Took me a year and a half after graduating to get a job that is somewhat respectable. Don't quit trying though...

sorry, Tim, I do feel your pain, but like Krambman, the heading of "Job Hunting" with the name Tim Tebow make me laugh until I opened it and realized you were serious. Best of luck to you and I hope you find what you're looking for very soon.

Be very careful though if you're checking craigslist for jobs, i'd venture to say about 85% of those ads for jobs on there are fake just looking for infomartion. If you see a reply to address that ends in gmail.com...odds are it's a scam. Been burned before.

Conrats, glad to see someone using there education degree! I'm starting to look for jobs outside of the field. Have been using monster.com, careerbuilder.com, hotjobs.com, and local newspapers. Any other good sites or resources?

I was laid off in May and just this week secured a new job. (4 year degree in Accounting with 8 years experience in the field) It is a TOUGH market right now, especially in this blessed State.

You sound hungry enough...my only advice would be that if/when something is offered to you, take it. Even if it's "beneath" you. You may not get any other offers for weeks / months. Take it, work hard there and you'll advance.

I had to sub and bartend for 3 years and go back to school and fast-track my Masters before I was able to get in anywhere. I have my full-time job now, but it was a struggle. Do anything you can for a paycheck and some insurance and don't give up.
