Online Poker

  Anyone have any idea where to play online for real money? It seems all the major networks are not working(pokerstars, Full Title, etc.)

  If you do not have a foreign address outside of the U.S.A there is not a single online poker website for real money at this time. Hopefully next year the UIGEA will be repealed and we can play poker online again

  There are a couple smaller sites you can play on but it's very sketchy how long they will allow US play and withdrawls are not easy. I've got 2 friends who moved to Canada in September to play.

  I haven't been following anything, but what are the chances the law gets repealed?

  I would say 60% chance next year it gets repealed. #gamblinghearing on twitter has a lot of the info from the last congress debate.

  There are a lot of card clubs in Columbus where you can play live poker though

  I know sportsbook.com (its sportsbook something) used to have poker, and I know my buddy still bets on games on it so you might want to check that out. He cashed some money out a few weeks ago so it seems legit.

  I refuse to play online for money. I can't get past the expectation that 2 or 3 guys playing at the table are working together.

  Bots don't worry me. If done really well, it's just like playing any other good player but there's no advantage there (obviously to make money you don't want to have a bunch of good players at a table, where long-run good play is basically slightly less than break-even due to the rake).
  
  My problem with playing 2-3 guys working together is it can be a critical advantage to know a few more cards not in the deck or in my hand, not to mention actually playing together to manipulate hands and pots.
  
  Although, I don't know, I suppose it's possible to have 2-3 bots playing a table together which if done correctly could be quite a force.

  I use to love the big free rolls for money that FullTilt ran. I actually did pretty well and picked-up a few bucks, which I normally pissed away with impatience at the 5/10 cent games.

  I know that on most of the sites you can't all get onto the site if you're on the same WiFi or internet connection. So, unless there are 2-3 different IP addresses in a close location then you're safe.

  That doesn't satisfy my insecurity. There are spoofers (which they may or may not catch). And then they could simply tether their mobile phones. Or they can be playing wherever and chatting/texting. Tournaments you are probably safe, so I'd stick with them.
  
  Sure, you run the same risk in a live game, but it's easier to spot teamwork (plus they have to be much more covert with their communication). I also think just visually, along with the pace, one observes more live than they would online.

  They moved to a different country--just to play online poker???

  It's the best place for us players right now. You can read about it at 2+2 poker. Also if you have time check out some of the posts I would recommended Searching girah scandal

  If and when online gambling is legalized (I think it's a matter of time, especially with Vegas hurting and good 'ol Harry Reid swinging some clout), all the major casinos will be launching sites probably within days.
  
  Not that it will solve any of the issues I mentioned, but it would be nice to be able to place a sport bet legally. But that raises interesting strategic decisions for the casinos - gambling has long since peaked in Vegas with the proliferation of local casinos (and in Macau), but if online gambling cost them even 10% in visitation the impact on room rates would be huge.
  
  Maybe the solution is legalize online poker and nothing else (even though sportsbook is a pittance for Vegas, it does attract huge visitation for March Madness and the SB).

  Ah ok. I looked at the site a little last night and it said it only takes credit card for deposits so how do you withdraw money? I'd rather not have money stuck on there too, I have a decent amount on Full Tilt as it is.
  
  Good news is a sale of Full Tilt was just approved within the last week or so and they are working out how they will get people their money.

  I don't think anything else besides poker is even being discussed is it? They just had a hearing last week where people tried to prove that it was a game of skill and not "gambling" and I think it would be a little more difficult to convince people that betting on the NCAA tourney is a game of skill.
