My Girlfriend's Twilight Experience

  • bradmaynard
My girlfriend got a free ticket to the Twilight movie courtesy of her friends for the midnight viewing last night. This was the first time she ever saw one of the Twilight movies in theaters. I got a phone call from her on my lunch break at about 2:30 am telling me how creepy the vibe was in the theater. Obviously my initial reaction was to laugh since she certainly should have seen an odd bunch of fanatics in the audience coming during a midnight release but I guess things got pretty interesting. According to her when the protagonist and the vampire had sex, the entire audience, even a few of her friends, started clapping uncontrollably and almost a quarter of the whole movie theater was then crying. WTF! I've seen my fair share of movies but I've never heard of anything like this. Also considering the trigger to this unwavering happiness from the crowd of preteen - elderly women, how creepy is this situation?

meh, it's not different than when Ron and Hermione kissed in Harry Potter. Fans have been waiting for the moment. I find it more funny than creepy. Lol

Be honest, this is exactly how you reacted during Indian Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Jerry Sandusky clapped and cried during A Serbian Film. Not creepy at all.

I *think* I wear pants had a good pic somewhere that summed up twilight. (Maybe it was someone else, I can't remember)

If I were sitting in the theater I would be laughing hysterically but making sure to take note of the fact that people so in to Twilight that they started crying during a sex scene with a vampire 360 degrees around me.

    First of all, why?

I find the whole Twilight experience very odd. I have three pre-teen daughters, I expect them to be into the movies/books, (maybe not the sex stuff so much) but I am not understanding why all these older broads are into this shit.

Uhhmmm....because it was my facebook profile picture for a minute. And I never said he was a vampire. (Even though I've never seen any of the movies so I don't know).

I'd be careful she might be misleading you and really a member of Team Edward. Those vampires/werewolves are sneaky like that.

Holy fuck! I googled "Team Edward" and apparently this is a real movement. Shame on you grown men for knowing this....SMH.
