He does have a tattoo of a gun on his forearm. Of course, it's in honor of his mom.

I thought the other tattoo was to honor his mom, the "Jessi Colter" logo that's on the inside of his right forearm right below the elbow joint.

The gun tattoo was a gift from his girl Drea.

The video is shot in Nashville on Music Square East which is part of the Music Row area where all the recording studios are in Nashville. Considering his dads early plight and fight w Music Row, this is understandably intentional.

Also, it's clear from the video who he's calling out. There are blurred out billboards featuring Blake Sheltons Honeybee and Jason Aldeans Dirt Road Anthem, tho their names are never shown. As Shooter moves further and further past those signs are partially unblurred and another sign appears that simply says "THIS" with the aforementioned signs directly in the background.

Also, and mabye its nothing, but notice Shooter walking in front of the record studios. It's a one-way street and Shooter's going the wrong way. That could be intentional especially since I read shooter inserted some artists from his XXX movement into the video mulling around the street outside of the studios. Im not sure who's who however.

That is correct, I misspoke. I thought the gun had Jessi "engraved" on it.

Damn, I really can't wait for his new album to come out. I loved Black Ribbons but I'm ready for another country album. It's been like 4 years since his last country album.

    Reps.

Also, the site that Shooter and I have emailed about is in regards to the XXX movement.

I've always liked this song, tho I'm not crazy about the other one you posted - what album is that from?

More evidence that he's alluding, in part, to Jason Aldean, are the lyrics "it's a dirt road free for all" and "sing another man's song with a big drum loop". The latter most likely referring to Dirt Road Anthem being a Colt Ford song originally.

Black Ribbons, his last album which was released in March of 2010. Also, it was a rock concept album, not country. I love it but it was a major step away from his roots.

This was the only other single/video from the album which is better than the video I posted before but I would rank probably 3rd or 4th best song on the album:

The following aren't official videos but all are off Black Ribbons.

This is my second favorite song on the album and I just found out today that it's used in an episode of Sons of Anarchy. This made me happy as I just started watching the show on netflix and it's fucking awesome.

It's not often that a title track is my favorite on an album, but this one is my favorite by far:

Shooter is in Nicholasville and Lexington, Kentucky shooting 3 videos. He's also in another town, but I cannot remember it. He's been there since Sunday.

I'd love to see him again in concert.

While I hate it that Shooter is jabbing at Jason Aldean..."Dirt Road Anthem" is a song from Brantley Gilbert AND Colt Ford. Brantley Gilbert is a Georgian country guy, like Aldean. I actually heard an interview from Brantley who appreciates Aldean wanting to record some of Brantley's written songs because it's an honor to a guy like Brantley.

I think Shooter's biggest problems with people are they don't write their own music and they are "mainstream." I read an interview when someone asked Shooter about Taylor Swift, while he doesn't like her "mainstream" music, he respects her because she writes her own stuff. The whole "mainstream" side makes sense, it's that same "outlaw" style that Waylon had -- the anti-mainstream. While I don't see Jason Aldean and Eric Church as sell-outs, I can see others being that.

Shooter may be trying to be the outlaw country that was around with the feud of Waylon, Willie, etc. outlaws competing against the "outlaws" of Johnny Paycheck, etc. He's upset he doesn't get radiotime just like Waylon didn't. But...he also may not care about it. He's making his music and he's got his following. He's probably happy.
