The article you posted asserts that he had not been approached. It's clear as day. How did you miss it?

One of the many which you have proven you either didn't read or didn't understand.

Not knowing anything? Well, anyone on here can know that you have a vendetta by looking at your posting history. We can know that about you through the magic of sight and reading.

Also, the below makes you sound like a bigot. Holding to a belief that isn't rooted in anything other than news soundbites and articles you don't read, and which berates a worldview without having experienced even remotely close to a large enough sample of the population, is at the very least ignorant.

And are there intolerances in other faiths - Christian, Jewish, etc? Sure. And when those faiths start causing mass death and mayhem, I will point them out just the same.

Okay, I'm a Christian myself, but I can't shake facts. Do you honestly not know about Christendom's bloody history?

Ah ... to be so obliviously resolute ... much like Dr. Winnie in this thread.

Having not found a worldview able to sit with your current intellectual state does not necessitate that it is foolish or "retarded."

Much in the same vein as this thread, I have not found the teachings of Islam to satisfy my own, and I no longer find atheism to satisfy it either. However, I am certainly not ignorant enough to think that those are foolish or undeserving of consideration by others.

I see someone changed the thread title, I'm guessing it was a mod since the OP isn't even bright enough to read the article he posted. LOL

yeah that's your opinion on the matter. my opinion is that religion is retarded.
  • Dr Winston O'Boogie
Look, you can call me ignorant all you want. I've heard the argument about atrocities committed through history. I'm referring to today, the world we occupy at present. If Christian or Buddhist groups start murdering in the name of their faith en masse in the present world, I will be equally concerned.

Also, as I stated in my earlier post, research this issue. My link to one article isn't all inclusive.

    Ok, you're ignorant.

Guess you should've listed an article that supported your original claim that muslim students were suing then.

    Ignorant.

Pretty sure anyone reading this can see that on their own, so I don't think anyone has to call you that.
Dr Winston O'Boogie;955794 wrote:I've heard the argument about atrocities committed through history. I'm referring to today, the world we occupy at present.
Ah, so you narrow the scope when it doesn't support your argument until it does. Pretty easy to believe whatever you want when you arbitrarily define the parameters.
Dr Winston O'Boogie;955794 wrote:Also, as I stated in my earlier post, research this issue. My link to one article isn't all inclusive.
No, but your claims were, at least in one respect, in direct contrast to an assertion in the article.
  • Dr Winston O'Boogie
Regardless of how some of you wish to sidetrack this, the fact is that Some Muslim students at Catholic University are offended at their prayer accomodations. I cited one article because it was the first one on the list, not because I thought it the all-inclusive authority on the story. It was merely an introduction on the topic. Typically, some people chose to sidetracked by what details weren't included in that particular story. In that case, forget about the story linked in my first post. The point is that Muslim students at Catholic University are offended by the Catholic particulars in the rooms set aside for their prayer. The professor is pursuing the case on their behalf. If you chose to ignore the irony of this and want to call me ignorant, fine. The story is still taking place.

According to the article you quoted, no students have voiced this opinion. It's not that the article doesn't speak to the matter. It does speak to the matter. It says that students did NOT complain to the professor.
Dr Winston O'Boogie;959398 wrote:I cited one article because it was the first one on the list, not because I thought it the all-inclusive authority on the story.
Yes, and one of the facts it lists is that students did not complain to the professor, so I'm not sure why you're quoting an article and then, essentially, saying it's lying.
Dr Winston O'Boogie;959398 wrote:It was merely an introduction on the topic. Typically, some people chose to sidetracked by what details weren't included in that particular story.
But they WERE included. They just say the opposite of what you're trying to assert now.

Either you didn't read through the article, or you didn't comprehend what you read. It speaks to whether or not students complained to the professor. It says they did no such thing.
Dr Winston O'Boogie;959398 wrote:In that case, forget about the story linked in my first post. The point is that Muslim students at Catholic University are offended by the Catholic particulars in the rooms set aside for their prayer.
If that was "the point," as you say it is, you should probably find a story where that's actually happening, since the article explicitly says it did not happen.
Dr Winston O'Boogie;959398 wrote:The professor is pursuing the case on their behalf.
On behalf of students who did not even bring the topic up to the professor (a FACT stated EXPLICITLY by the article).
Dr Winston O'Boogie;959398 wrote:If you chose to ignore the irony of this and want to call me ignorant, fine. The story is still taking place.
It would be ironic ... if it was happening.

The story actually mentioned in the article is happening. You just apparently didn't follow it.

In actuality, my post points out that your "opinion" is really an argumentum ad ignorantiam.

i've gone back to further research this and I have come to the conclusion that it was a horribly wrong premise on my part. An emotional reaction to a story from a bad source. I was way off.

I apologize to any Muslims on here and I shall dine crow this evening.
