I chuckle..

    everytime I go to JJ.

In 2007 or 2008 they'd charge $6.95 MONTHLY for subscribers.. no ripple effect due to keeping those who had lifetime memberships with lifetime memberships.

Then for $1 per month it ALL comes tumbling down.

Wow is it dead and irrelevent. Competition for FreeHuddle would be Yappi not JJ

Wow, I said yappi without being threatened.

    The mob is dead.

I just checked and lik 3-4 threads on the STI forum were active the last two days I think. Wow.

It really did all come down to how they implemented it. If they woulda grandfathered in all the people who were there already then start charging...like they did a few years ago...then there would not have been a problem.

They not only did not do that...but also crapped on those who paid a one time fee back in teh day, and relied on semantics to say that wasnt a lifetime membership.....it was a one time administrative cost.

The football forum is dead as well..and I havent even looked at the sports who are inactive now.

There is more activity on www.themaconline.com...a site for the MAC conference in West Central Ohio than there is at the huddle.

Amazing how the mighty have fallen.

I just think that I actually paid for that site. Amazing.

I joined when it was $6.95/month. Boy was I getting ripped off.

I have no idea why the thread was closed for a few minutes. I checked the log and it said I closed it. Weird.

Never seen a penny out of this guy either.

They didn't want to grandfather people in because they thought that those people that paid would be the only ones paying again. They knew the users that came in when it was free, probably only came in because it was free. Ideally, looking back, they should have done the grandfathering to keep the active prominent users backing the idea and keeping the site alive. It might have gotten people interested in sticking around, but alas, epic failure on their part.

Never paid, either. Originally joined in 2001 when it was free. When Overdrive got banned, I waited until 2008, when it became free again. I think when I was banned, it was $15 to join and I wasn't going to waste money on that site considering how eager they were to suspend/ban members for anything remotely resembling a transgression.

i joined for free before it had the lifetime fee. then got banned, and paid for a name, then got banned and created another free name, banned, free name, banned, free name, then the shitstorm last month where I got banned for promoting this site and created several that i flamed out and then all of my new accounts were deactivated.

i think i paid 12.95 or something like that the 1 time i did pay.

Rydawg hasn't been here and is just now making fun of JJ Huddle.

It is pretty amazing how badly and how quickly they ran that place into the ground. The STI forum only has TWO posts in it today! TWO!

And the Bleacher Seats forum only has 45 threads with comments made on them since midnight. And remember this board is a conglomerate of all the broads from when the site is free. The STI forum alone used to have more activity on it on a slow day than that place does.

Just now? Cmon Peake! A "free" huddle would have been called something else if it weren't for me.
