What books are you reading?

  Since getting a kindle, I've been on a huge reading kick.
  Currently Reading:
  Game of Thrones- Not sure why I started reading this, I already have tons of books on my "To Read" list, but now the next 4 books in this series has leapfrogged them all. I've never liked Fantasy novels before (hated Lord of the Rings), but I'm almost done with this first book and am pretty well hooked on this series.
  
  The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson- I've never read a book by this writer before, and I never will again. I thought a book about the pschology of psychopaths would be interesting, unfortunately this book is pretty much just a diary of the writer as he travels around interviewing people about psychopaths. Ronson is a fairly successful writher, which I don't understand as I truly hate his unorganized rambling writing style. I generally finish every book I start, so luckily this book is fairly short....
  
  
  Just finished:
  The Dead Hand by David Hoffman- Very Interesting book on the Cold War. Lots of info on the Gorbachev/Reagan years and very readable (except for all of the Russian names- those were hard to keep track of who was who). I know next to nothing about the Cold War, so I kind wish the book would have gone into more detail on those years, but that seemed to be beyond it's scope. Worthwhile read nonetheless...
  
  The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach- Baseball Novel set at a small private college in Wisconsin. Once you start reading it, it's hard to put down- It's over 550 pages long, yet I finished it in 3 days, and I'm not usually a very quick reader. Some great characters and the baseball portion was written very well, so it made for one of the best fiction reads I've had in a while. HBO is developing it into a new show, so it'll be interesting to see how it translates to TV (probably won't be for a few years, as the book just came out last month)

  I have a hard time imagining ETB reading a book that doesn't involve pop ups.

  I'm only in Chapter 2, so it's still a lot of early history. It's interesting, but it is only scratching the surface so far on the actual "Pink Floyd" story. Syd Barrett has yet to leave the picture.

  The last books I read was Moneyball this summer and I also read The Extra 2%. The Extra 2% is about how a few guys from Wall Street turned around the Tampa Bay Rays a few years ago.

  It was solid. Some of the stories were really good most notably the piece on Soccer Club fans, Saddam's story, and the Val Kilmer story. Didn't realize what a nutcase he was.

  Another good Pink Folyd book, that I don't recommend to anyone, is Pink Floyd and Philosophy: Careful with that Axiom, Eugene! I don't recommend it b/c it makes you think about a lot of shit that most people don't want to think about!

  Recent books that I would recommend...I was kind of on a classics kick over the summer
  
  Dracula-You can get that one for free.
  The Shunned House-HP Lovecraft-More of a short story, but also free I think.
  Slaughterhouse Five-Interesting.
  
  I would also recommend both "Badass" books by Ben Thompson. Short descriptions of some of the toughest warriors, monsters, etc. in history.
  
  I also read "Not Dead and Not For Sale" Scott Weiland's autobiography. That was waste of time.

  Extra 2% is a great book and Moneyball is one my all time favorites
