Believe it is the same size as a phone with a 4.3", but because there are no physical buttons when hidden (during video or a game) it makes the displayable area 4.65". The extra real estate comes from removing the physical buttons.OneBuckeye;939541 wrote:I think that will be the case as well.
My main concern is the Nexus will be too big. I won't be able to get to the whole screen with one hand. -

No SD card?!?!?! Are you serious? Wow... that REALLY take a hit then in my book seeing. I didn't know that.gut;939957 wrote:No reason it should be more as they did cut some corners (no SD card, no HDMI out but supposedly the USB thingy that does the same, camera is better but 5mp is a bit cheaper). My point about the potential to cost more is that it supposedly is retailing for in the UK for $800. -
Scarlet_BuckeyeI thought this phone was supposed to be 4G (LTE) too? I'm seeing that it's not????

gutVZW will be LTE. There's also a GSM, or whatever you call it, version for other carriers.
No, there is no SD card - you can get it with 16 or 32gigs internal storage. I would have liked 48, maybe with an option to one day slap in a 64gig sd card, but I guess everyone is expecting cloud to be the wave of the future. Guess I'll have to wittle down my music collection some. -

Pretty interesting stuff. Im leaning towards the Nexus more and more although the no SD card does kinda suck. Also according to that is the Razr you can't remove the battery so that would suck. Hopefully these phones come out soon so I can go mess around with them and pick a new one really ready for a new phone.wes_mantooth;940128 wrote:http://phandroid.com/2011/10/20/galaxy-nexus-vs-droid-razr/ -

True...you can't remove the battery on the RAZR.Iliketurtles;940186 wrote:Pretty interesting stuff. Im leaning towards the Nexus more and more although the no SD card does kinda suck. wes_mantoothI am just very iffy on getting a 4.6 inch screen.
Seems to be where things are heading, but I think 4 inch is the sweet spot.(twss) -
dlazzIs the SD card thing that big of a deal? I've never removed mine. Ever.

do you want to transfer music from old phone to new? if so, you need an SDdlazz;940757 wrote:Is the SD card thing that big of a deal? I've never removed mine. Ever. -

My music is all backed-up on my computer, anyway. And your solution only matters if you are going to keep the same SD, which unless you already had a 32gig SD I don't know why you would (the one in the original Droid is 16gigs and a slow Class-2).balk14;940778 wrote:do you want to transfer music from old phone to new? if so, you need an SD
USB transfer to computer and then to new device. I've never taken out my SD card, either. Would be faster to transfer/back-up if I popped it into my computer, but I just connect the USB and then leave it be a few hours. -

Only if you want a lot of storage. The RAZR has up to 48gig internal vs 32gig for the Nexus. I don't know if the RAZR could one day take a 64gig SD, either.dlazz;940757 wrote:Is the SD card thing that big of a deal? I've never removed mine. Ever. -

You don't NEED to. There's alternatives.balk14;940778 wrote:do you want to transfer music from old phone to new? if so, you need an SD
Also, Google Music. -
Jawbreaker
If you have an android phone and unlimited data, google music is a must. The only time I see where you would want to store songs in memory is if you fly a lot.dlazz;940820 wrote:You don't NEED to. There's alternatives.

yea good call on that...how long does it take to get an invite from google music?gut;940803 wrote:My music is all backed-up on my computer, anyway. 3G coverage can be spotty, too, which is another reason to have music on your phone. I can get a 32gig card for $60-$70 that would easily last me 2 years...off the sd card I think is easier on battery, too.Jawbreaker;940851 wrote:If you have an android phone and unlimited data, google music is a must. I may have to check out Google Music though. -

You can cache music from Google Music...meaning if you know you arent going to have 3G in an area, you can pick whatever you want (all?) and cache it to your SD card to play when you dont have data.gut;940872 wrote:3G coverage can be spotty, too, which is another reason to have music on your phone. sherm03I know this was supposed to be the Nexus Prime thread, but I figured there was no need to start a separate thread...
I got my RAZR this morning. Using it for the past 6 hours, and I'm loving this phone. I will be interested to see the Prime and the HTC Vigor to see how they stack up. But the RAZR is definitely a great choice. -

Is the release date for sure November 10th? When are they going to make it official?sherm03;945011 wrote:I know this was supposed to be the Nexus Prime thread, but I figured there was no need to start a separate thread...

It's up to Verizon to make the release date official. Right now, the only official word is that pre-orders start Thursday.OneBuckeye;945215 wrote:Is the release date for sure November 10th? When are they going to make it official?
I highly doubt that Verizon does pre-orders for more than 2 weeks, so I would say that November 10th is a good estimate...at the very latest. -
dlazzTell your Moto friends that locked bootloaders are shit.

I've reported it. Clearly they don't see it as being that big of an issue.dlazz;945734 wrote:Tell your Moto friends that locked bootloaders are shit.
