Traveling to Costa Rica

raiderbuck...for vacation.
Anyone ever been? I'm looking to plan a vacation with my lady friend, and CR happened to pop into our heads. I've only been out of the country twice, and she's been all over the world. But never to CR. Most likely going to stay a 5-7 days down there. However, I know nothing about the area haha. Definitely looking for an all inclusive experience. I don't want to have to worry about spending money on food and drinks and stuff.
Also open to Cabo...would Cabo be the better bet? -

Fab1bJust returned from a week in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic stayed at Dreams Palm Beach it was good!

raiderbuckFab, did you look at any other resorts before booking the Dreams in DR? It looks really nice from the pictures.

Mister TwisterI hear that there are a couple of islands (Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna) off the coast that are pretty interesting. Used to be owned by a company called InGen. I believe that they are off limits, though.

OneBuckeyeThe wife went to CR for school and fell in love with it. I know other people who have as well. Pull the trigger.

GoPensMy brother is taking 25 inner city Cleveland kids there for Spring Break. It looks awesome--especially the zip line through the rain forest.

Manhattan BuckeyeWas there in '06, the Papagayo Peninsula is popular, several all-inclusive resorts as well as the Four Seasons are there. Short trips to Arenal, the jungle, ziplining, river tours, etc. You fly into Liberia (there's a direct from Newark). The dry season is March - May and the wet season is October-December. Relatively inexpensive and the locals are very friendly.
