I had this site and another site open in split screen and thought I was posting to the other site, their question was, what do you fantasize about during sex to achieve the ultimate orgasm. I noticed something was wrong when the replies to my post on the other site started sounding a little gay because I had posted Mickey Mantle baseball cards and old fishing lures on their site and Midgets and Clowns on this site.

    Well played sir.

I collect Santa Claus figures. I know...***. I have probably 40 different ones. My favorite I got at the Apple Butter Fest in Grand Rapids OH. An old man takes pieces of driftwood and paints them. Then adds paper mache to make the face, hat etc. They look great and each are unique. The other style I like are the Jim Shore Heartwood Creek collection.

My mom collects nutcrackers. She has over 200... ranging from 3 inch tall ones to ones over 4 ft tall. It's kinda creepy

How about you not circumvent the filter that is in place to ensure that Google doesn't pull their ads

Deal with it or leave? Or maybe you can pay Justin what he gets from the ads every month (which doesn't even cover the cost to operate the site).

Not really, anytime I've collected something I stopped liking it after a while and had a bunch of useless junk that I paid a lot for. Probably won't collect again.

I used to collect coins. Now I collect beer caps, I'm going to make a bar top out of them when I get a mancave in ~5 years. Each one needs to be different, and I will need 1,000 but am at 330. A long way to go..

That doesnt seem like it would give you much surface area.

You guys need to knock it off, and stick to the topic. If not, I will request to have you banned from this thread.

I collect coins and currency. Have a ton of old silver coins (1900-1963), paper currency (1899- ). My favorites being my $1 1899 Silver Certificate, $20 1917 Gold Certificate, $10 third charter third issue People's National Bank of Steubenville. Have a ton of others, especially small size (Hawaiian, North African, SC, US, FRBN, NBN, etc).

To a point I 'collect' counties. Or, more precisely, visiting or driving through every county (or equivalent) in the U.S. Currently, 2,527 of 3,141 (80.5%)

Also, trying to drive every mile of interstate: 41,995 miles of 47,405 (88.59%)

Some other things, trying to see a sporting event (preferably H.S. football) in every state.

Currently HS Football: OH, WV, PA, IN, KY, TX, MS, CO, WY, UT, CA, IA, NE, MO, WI, MN: 16 of 50.
Also other sporting events: WA, NV, AZ, LA, FL, IL, MI, KS, and MD: total 23 of 50.

Still seeing if I can beat my record of 56 high school football games I set last year. Currently have seen 24 games through first four weeks of 2011 in six different states (OH, PA, WV, KY, IN, CO)

I don't know how I feel about all the above...but "WOW!"

You must be retired and have a lot of time on your hands. Congrats though! Sounds like a lot of fun.

With your "events" stuff, I try to go to as many Diner, Drive-Ins, and Dives, Man v. Food, or a couple of other Food Network/Travel Channel food joints whenever I can. I think I am up to 17ish. I started last year.

Old radios, Millersburg carnival glass, bowling memorabilia. Wifey collects Coats and Clarks sewing stuff and snowmen

Sykotyk, that's pretty impressive, and I'm quite jealous. How have you been able to see that many football games this year?

And how do you find the time? Care if I ask your occupation?

It's funny people always ask, and I think it's blatantly obvious. I work for myself, and travel is the main part of my occupation.

Actually, I'll be 30 next spring. My personal motto is "Find a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life."

I just love to travel. It's in my blood. I had an office job. I hated it. Now, nobody gets to tell me what to do. The money's great, and I get to see the country. I go all over the place. Sometimes will rent a car and go see a national park, etc (which, by the way, is another thing I'm checking off a list). But high school football is the best, to me.

I've tried to see games whenever I could before, but last year was unreal. I saw in Week 2 a game on Thursday, Friday, 4 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday, and 2 on Monday (Rally at the Wolvarena, and the four Herbie games, plus Martins Ferry on Friday. The Browns preseason game was on Thursday). Then in Week 4 I saw a game in South Carolina. Saw other single games in Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Mississippi, Texas, and California. Saw other games in Cochranton (PA), Hermitage (PA), Steubenville-Massillon, Mogadore-Shadyside semifinal, a Warren JFK game. Saw three state semifinals in Salt Lake City, two state semifinals in Dallas at SMU's Ford Stadium. Saw 6 OHSAA title games. Saw 4 WPIAL title games in Pittsburgh. Saw 4 PIAA title games in Hershey. Rented a car in Chicago and saw in one weekend, 4 Wisconsin state title games on Thursday, 6 Minnesota state semifinals on Friday, and 6 more on Saturday.

If you ever get a chance for a high school football road trip. See the state semifinals at the Metrodome. Kickoff is at 8:30, and six games later is over around 10pm. Five minutes after the final whistle the next game is kicking off. And then, 8:30 the next morning, you do it all over again. I'm trying to schedule to do that again this year. I had planned a road trip where I'd see 34 games in 14 days this fall. But that plan has fallen through. May never even get out to Minneapolis this year. Although, I really want to. Would've seen 12 Minnesota games, 4 Wisconsin games, 7 Nebraska games, and 10 Iowa games. Also, throw in an UNI college game.

As for national parks, since you reminded me:

Redwoods, Sequoia, Rainier, Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Arches, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Everglades, Arcadia, Theodore Roosevelt, Great Smokies, Wind Cave and Mammoth Caves.

As for the Man-V-Food/TV Food stuff. I've eaten at Abe's BBQ at the Crossroads in Clarksdale, MS. The best pulled pork sandwiches I've ever had. Bar none. I've had a burger at City Grille in Denver by the statehouse. Again, amazing food. I've also eaten, many times, the Triple Atomic wings at Quake Steak and Lube. Love those things. I want to try that extremely hot Indian food from Man-v-Food. I think I can take it on. I will not try the "Big Texan" in Amarillo. 72oz of steak is probably way too much for me.
